Chapter 4: Journey’s POV

“Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Wake Up.” I heard Parker nudge me. We were in 5th period, History and I had fallen asleep the third time today. I am giving a really bad first impression on my first day. I sat up and I rubbed my eyes as I listened to the teacher give a lesson. I felt my phone vibrate and I checked it under the desk which was in the back.

Our classrooms sort of looked like a college classroom. The desks were on levels and there was one big stage in the middle with a large overhead projector or smart board and it was very easy to text during class. I checked the contact name. Dad. I swiped my phone to see the message.

Dad: Sorry if your class but I wanted to see how you are.

Me: I’m fine- class is ending in a minute and I have break.

Dad: Awesome! Text me when class is over okay?

Soon the bell rang and we all got up. I rushed out of the classroom before the teacher could yell at me for falling asleep in class. Once we were in the halls we headed out the doors of the building so we could head to the dorms for a bit.

Caleb was getting hit in the head with Hazel’s textbook and I frowned. “CAN YOU NOT BE SO STUPID?” She shouted, continuously hitting him the textbook. Parker and I rolled our eyes and walked over to see what Caleb did this time.

“CALEB!” I shouted. His head shot up. “What did you do?” I asked.

“He spilled coffee on my science paper!” Hazel snapped.

“Why are you having coffee now?” Parker asked.

“I’m a busy guy, tired a lot.” Caleb shrugged but that only made her hit him harder.

“Stop you’re going to give him a concussion.” I told her. She rolled her eyes and put her book away. “See isn’t that better?” I told her and she shook her head.

“I liked when he was in pain.” She sighed. Soon we heard multiple feel clattering on the sidewalk pavement we turned our heads to see the other half of our group.

“Layla!” Hazel said happily, grasping her in a hug. I shook my head.

“Well great I have no idea who’s who now.” I shrugged as I got picked up but Collin and Parker. Parker holding me by the armpit crease which hurt and my legs on Collins shoulders.

“You too are always doing something weird to Journey.” Melody said, eyeing the boys.

“She likes it.” Parker smiled.

“I do?”

“Come on lets go to the dorms. We haven’t seen yours yet.” Layla said and I nodded. Then they went off running towards the dorms still holding me in the awkward position.

“HELP ME!” I screamed as the other 5 chased after my body. Soon they finally let me down after being stuck in a painful position for so long. I pouted and stuck my bottom lip at Parker and he frowned.

“Journey…” He whined. “Don’t gimme that face.” He pouted back. I smiled and I gave him a big hug.

“Carry me.” I commanded him. He scooped me up, my legs wrapping around his waist as we walked to the elevator, pressing the 3rd floor. We walked in and we waited a minute till we reached our floor.

Collin was a head of us, unlocking our door and letting all 7 of us in. Parker sat on my bed, resting himself against the wall and letting me snuggle into him. “I don’t want to get up.” I said closing my eyes.
