Chapter 26: Journey’s POV

We walked around the ballroom. It was lit beautifully with different lights hanging from the rafters of the ceiling. Glow in the Dark Star stickers were put across the walls. Rock music greeted us when the 6 of us walk in.

We looked around, about half of the school was in the ballroom, dancing in there prom dress or suit. Not caring if the blistered up their ankles from the heels that wore. This school knows how to rock. We walked to the dance floor where Parker took my hand in dance routine.

He spun me perfectly, not making me lose my balance once. I looked over to see the 2 other couples sneaking away from us and we decided to follow. We found them in the janitor’s closet with a mop, a hammer, a pair of hedge clippers, and floor cleaning chemicals.

“What are you guys doing?” Parker chuckled.

“Were going to fuck up this prom.” Caleb said casually.

“Sounds like something you four would do.” I sighed. I saw Parker holding a container of blue paint. “… Five of you would do.” I changed it up as I saw an evil grin plastered on his face. I rolled my eyes as I grabbed a bottle of Clorox Bleach.

“That’s my girl.” He grinned. We walked out quietly and unnoticed which was easier than pie. Due to the loud commotion of the school prom it was like we were slipping out of your grandma’s house.

Although I never really need to slip out of my grandma’s house. My dad’s parents are really nice. But I don’t know my mom’s mom and I already know my mom’s dad a freaking lunatic. We walked out and Caleb already was backstage, on a ladder, cutting off the ribbon that wove across the rafters.

“What to do with paint…” Parker frowned. He looked at a wall and he started to paint something I have seen before but it’s not even in the premises of appropriate. It was um… male genitalia.

I hid in the dark and I saw a girls aqua blue shining in the light. I smiled at it, uncapping my bottle of bleach. I walked up to the girl who presumed to be alone, and I dumped it on her head and I sped away with the bottle in hands.

Hazel was spreading red paint with a mop to make it look like a murder scene on the floors. Collin was taking another set of hedge clippers and shredding the curtains. Layla was throwing mop water on the ground that smelled disgusting.

Soon others were throwing trash on the ground and soon the entire prom ball room was a pig sty but like ten times as worse. We laughed as we soon slowly walked out and started to walk around campus, still full of energy. “Parker.” He looked up. “What will happen when we grow up? What do you see in our future?”

“You sound like you’re talking to a fortune teller.” Layla frowned.

“Yeah feel my magical ball of fortunes.” He joked.

“Which one? There are two.” I pointed out as I looked below.

“You really want to do that tonight? After what happened last time?” He cocked and eyebrow and I nodded excitedly. He sighed with a small grin. “Alright.” He said, putting me on his back and running off with me to the dorms.

We climbed the stairs and we ran into our dorms. Parker went to the bathroom to grab a condom. I was waiting and I heard Parker curse. “SHIT.” He yelled loudly. I frowned, getting up and walking out.

                “What?” I asked him.

“Were out.” He sighed. “It’s too late to go buy some more from CVS.” He frowned.

“Dammit those sex addicts.” I hissed, referring to Collin and Layla.

“We’ve had more sex then they have.” Parker frowned.

“Don’t ruin my point.” I threatened as I walked back to the bedroom to get into a set of pajamas. I pulled on one of Parker’s shirts, I put on a pair of booty shorts and I fell onto the bed tiredly, flipping on our TV. Seems insane that the year is ending.

Parker walked in and sat on the bed next to me, looking at what I was watching. “Are you excited to go back home?” He asked and I shrugged.

“I mean what’s going to happen after that? College?” I frowned. “Not happy about it.” I chuckled.

“Don’t you want a degree?” He asked.

“No actually.” I sat up. “I want to follow my parent’s footsteps. Be in a band.” I told him and he nodded.

“We should be in a band then.” He said. I raised an eyebrow. “We can do it. We can be in a band!” He jumped up on the bed. “I can play rhythm guitar! You can sing! Layla knows lead guitar, Collin does drums Caleb can also play bass!” He shouted.

                “He can?” I frowned.

“Yes! We can be the next generation!” He said excitedly.

“They won’t agree.” I rolled my eyes.

                *************************************

“Of course we’ll join your band!” Collin, Layla, Hazel and Caleb said happily. My eyes widened at their reaction. I was almost positive they would decline our crazy offer.

“We need a band name.” Parker frowned.

“Hear The Tears.” I said and everyone turned my way and I shrugged. “It was a suggestion.”

                “I like it.” Layla smiled.

                “So do I!” Collin agreed.

“You can’t hear tears.” Caleb frowned, making me do a face palm.

                “That’s the point.” I muttered.

“I like it.” Parker said, cutting Caleb off before he could continue talking stupidity.

“I can’t believe I am finally in a band!” I said happily. I was leaving school and starting a band with 4 out of my 7 best friends in the whole wide world. It seemed almost insane but I have never felt so happy in my entire life.
