Chapter 18: Journey’s POV

((A/N: This Chapter I must give credit to @HearToHelpOthers on Quotev for the idea! Thank you so much c:))

We were loading our bags into the bus. My dad came last week and took Ivory’s present home with him so it could be safe from the thieves that lurked around the dorms. We all climbed onto the bus and I picked a seat in the front row near the door. Parker was next to me, Hazel was with Caleb who was behind us, Collin and Layla were together in the seat across from ours, and the two single ladies, Melody and Lyric, were behind Collin and Layla.

It was about a week before Christmas and we were all excited to see our family again for the holidays and not because of problems with my grandfather or my anxieties that grew upon me sense the day I was captured from the Starbucks.

We were all talking about what we were going to do for the holidays. “I haven’t seen my parents in ages!” Caleb groaned. “It feels so weird and I miss them!” He exclaimed in shock.

“What about your little sister?” Parker asked.

“Oh I don’t care about her.” He said, I knew he was joking because I could see a freshly wrapped present near his feet.

“I just can’t wait to be in a comfortable bed again!” Melody laughed.

“You can say that again!” I laughed, my head in Parkers lap. Collin frowned, looking out the window. I frowned back at him. “What?” I asked.

“Doesn’t it seem like the driver is going really fast?” He asked. I sat up and opened the black curtain covering the bus windows. He definitely WAS speeding. I frowned as we soon got off the freeway and onto the highway.

“It could be nothing I mean some people go a little over the speed limit!” I reassured him.

“Yeah I have gone to at LEAST 98.” Caleb chuckled. Our eyes widened, turning our heads.

“You don’t even HAVE a driver’s license.” Melody pointed out.

“Hey I’m not 21 but I still drink with my dad.” Caleb put his hands up in surrender. Soon I felt the bus pick up even more speed. I sat up, Parker putting his arm around me, all the other men doing the same for their girls.

“Does he have control on the brakes?” I asked in a hushed whisper. The driver was pressing on his brakes but nothing was happening. His eyes widened, repeatedly pushing down on the brake pedal but nothing was happening.

“WERE GOING TO CRASH!” He yelled. I gasped as I saw we were going to hit the side of the highway. I heard a large bang, I saw the driver getting shoved into the steering wheel, I felt my head throbbing and I saw red liquid on the ground before blacking out.

Andy’s POV:

We had been waiting a half hour for all the kids return to our house. I was pacing around the room while the other parents looked as worried as me. We weren’t even notified that our children were running late. Even Ivory looked worried and she stopped playing with Minnie in her bedroom.

“Where are they?” Amber asked, running a hand through her hair.

“I don’t know!” I exclaimed. All the parents looked like they just wanted answers.

“Just flip on the news.” Amber sighed. Jinxx got up and grabbed the TV remote and clicked on. It was already on the news channel. We saw a tremendous crash on the screen and multiple ambulances. I frowned as I sat down on the arm rest of the couch.

“Oh my lord that looks horrific!” Melanie exclaimed.

“Who was in there?” Aria gasped.

“I have no clue but that bus looks familiar.” Jake said, taking a close look at the screen.

“That bus DOES look familiar!” Jake’s wife, Ella exclaimed. Soon my phone rang. I picked up and I went to the bedroom to listen to my call.

“Hello I am Doctor Morris from the Los Angeles Hospital.” She started. I knew where I saw that bus. “I need you to come to the hospital immediately. I know you have other family with you please bring them with we have news to inform them as well regarding your children. Right now all I can tell you over the phone is that your daughter has suffered a major car crash.” I dropped the phone.

“Sir? Hello? Hello?” I could hear her say.

“I’ll be right there…” I said in complete shock, kneeling down and picking up the phone. I hung up and I walked out of the room with my mouth open. I wanted to cry. I needed to cry. I needed someone to tell me if my daughter was alright.

                “What’s wrong?” Amber frowned.

“We all need to go to the hospital.” Everyone frowned. “I know where that bus is from.” I said, trying not to cry before I could finish what I had to say.

“It was the boarding schools transportation bus.” I looked at the flabbergasted sea of people. “Our children were on that bus. We need to go. Now.” I told them all. Everyone shot up, not bothering with coats, just grabbing there keys and running out the door with me and Amber.

                Were they alright?

Parker’s POV:

I was immediately transported to the hospital with everyone else just going to the emergency room sense almost everyone was wide awake during and after the crash. I said almost. Not everyone.

Journey was sent into surgery immediately with blood force trauma to the head from hitting it so hard on the window and slamming her head into the ground when she fell. We were all worried and details on her condition were limited to us.

None of us suffered anything other than a few scratches and maybe a broken arm here or there. I was lucky and only broke my left ankle. Caleb was fine, Hazel had a broken right arm, Collin and Layla were just in shock from the accident although Collin had a minor concussion, Melody and Lyric both sprained their wrists.

A few scratches and bruises but they were completely fine.

                Journey was definitely not.

We were all now sitting in the waiting room, waiting for our parents to show up. I saw a swarm of middle age adults run into the hospital. Mom and Dad running towards me and Lyric, kissing us repeatedly and asking us if we were in pain or if we needed anything, if we were alright.

Everyone besides Andy and Amber who stood there, looking around for their daughter.

                Not knowing a thing.

They stood there almost confused, looking at all the happy parents but they weren’t happy. Ivory ran into the hospital, hoping to find her older sister and ask her if she was okay and if she needed a hug.

She needed more than a hug.

A doctor walked over and told them a few things before they followed the doctor into the elevator to discuss whatever Journey’s case may be. Then a doctor came to me, and told me what was really going on with Journey.

“Is Journey Okay?” I asked the doctor. He looked up at me.

“She’s in a coma we don’t know when she’s waking up.” She said softly.
