PLEASE READ IT'S VERY IMPORT: Part Ten is going to be broken up into six or seven chapters. Each chapter will range from five hundred to one thousand five hundred words and they will all take place in the same day. Each part will only contain one point of view. Sorry that's been a while. Here you go.

The dress was simple; short in the front and floor-length in the back. It was a dull silver color, similar to the metal bracelet that Evangeline wore.

"Are you sure about the dress?" I ask.

"I'm with Mare here, Evangeline," Elane spoke up for the first time.

"You both underestimate me. This dress will make a prefect frame," she answered in a dismissive tone.

"Frame?" my voice wavered.

"Just close your eyes and try to be still for a moment, Barrow," she ordered.

I did as I was told and tried not to wiggle. Almost instantly I felt metal surround my bear arms and stick to various parts of the dress. Once I was sure she was done, I opened my eyes. In the mirror I could see that she had added sleeves, in the same metal she wore on her wrist, to the once strapless dress; there were gold accents on the waist and the train of the dress.

"Go on, give it a twirl," Elane's voice rang out.

I did what was asked of me, "It's stunning" I mummer.

"And both of you doubted me," she shook her head lightly, "Now I think this is the dress. Any objections?"

When no one answered she pulled the metal off of me and helped me unzip the dress. After the two love birds had left the room, I dressed back into my clothes. The dress Maven had picked out for me was beautiful. It was a three-quarter sleeve black dress with a full skirt. The black was a nice change from the red, but I wasn't pleased that it was because I was supposed to be morning Elara's death, nor was I pleased by the lack of movement caused by the skirt. Nonetheless, the dress was still stunning for being so simple. My hair was braided from one side of my head around to rest on the other shoulder. All that was missing was a crown and I'd look a queen.

After I slipped on my heels I headed out of the tailors; however, the moment I stepped out, I was flanked by four sentinels. There was no use in dismissing them, Maven had already informed me that they were to stay with me whenever he wasn't around, so I did my best to ignore them. The halls were oddly silent, save the sound of the sentinels' boots and the clicks of my heels, but that was to be expected after the recent attack. For the first time I took the chance to admire the structure of the palace. I was so fixated in the architecture that I hadn't realized that we had arrived back at Maven and my shared chambers until one of the sentinels let out a not so subtle cough.

Giving them a silent nod to stay outside, I opened the door and stepped inside. Maven was hard at work behind his disk, or what I assumed was once his desk; every inch of the wooden surface was covered by papers, some of which were torn to shreds. I quietly walked up behind him, my eyes never leaving his body, and wrapped my arms around his chest. I heard him release a quiet breath before bringing his hands up to mine.

I placed my head on top of his unruly hair and smiled, "How's it going?"

"Better," he chuckled as I brought my hand up to stroke his hair, "Now that you're here."

"I just seem to have that effect," I glance down at his work and frown, "What's all of this?"

"A mix of reports for the meeting later today, information for the lunch with Princess Iris and Ptolemus, and the speech regarding Mother's death," he let out a sigh.

"Well," I say as I spin around to the front of the desk, "I think it's time for you to take a break and have fun," I give him a flirtatious smile.

"Are you suggesting that I neglect my kingly duties to have 'fun' with my fiancée?" he asks in a playful tone.

"But isn't keeping your soon-to-be queen happy a 'kingly duty'," I whine.

Maven gets up slowly and walks towards me. As he does my eyes scan over his every detail; his icy blue eyes, strong jaw, messy black hair, and full lips. Even though I'm studding his appearance, I know he is doing the same to me, and it send shivers down my spine. The way he makes me feel, my heart beating rapidly and butterflies in my stomach, scares me, no one else has ever made me feel this way.

"I guess you're right," he licks his lower lip in a seductive manner, "I believe lunch doesn't start for another half hour."

With that Maven's hands reached my own and he took hold of them. He met my gaze for just a moment before connecting our lips. The kiss started off slow and innocent, but we both knew it wouldn't stay that way for long. Our lips moved in sync, our hands laced together, and everything slowed around us. Suddenly Maven slammed me against the wall to deepen the kiss. I gasped in surprise and Maven took that as his chance to put his tongue into my mouth. Once again, I tried to take control, but Maven easily asserted his dominance. He droped his hands soon after and wrapped them around my waist. With my now free hands, I felt his chest up and down. Unexpectedly, his lips leave mine and I let out a sound of protest to which he responds with a chuckle. I'm about to ask him why he ended such bliss when I fell his lips attach themselves to my neck. The new feeling sends shudders down my spine and I let out a moan.

"Wait," I stop him suddenly.

"Mare," he looks at me nervously, "Is everything okay? Is this too much?"

I nearly laugh at the worry and concern in his voice, "No this is perfect," I smile at him, "But I don't think your supposed to show up to meet royals with hickeys on your neck."

"No, I suppose not."
