"Ned? Ned, look- look at me." Peter stuttered, breathing heavily and pressing on the wound on his side with all his strength in an attempt to stop the bleeding. Ned turned around quickly and immediately noticed the large gash on Peter's side which was bleeding heavily despite the pressure on it.

"No! No, no, nononono... No, this- this isn't happening, right?" He stammered, blinking back tears. He kneeled at Peter's side and grabbed his free hand which was laying at his side, holding it with both of his own.

Peter smiled weakly at him, tears streaming down his pale face and his entire body shaking slightly. He squeezed Ned's hand with the miniscule amount of strength he had left.

"I can't lose you." Ned said quietly, his voice pleading. Everything but Peter had faded away into the background and his whole body felt numb except for his hands which were clinging to Peter's so tightly it probably hurt.

"You'll be okay-" Peter had to stop and cough, a bit of blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, "-without me. Just- Just be happy for me, okay?"

"Don't talk like that, you're not gonna die. You're okay. You're fine." Ned sobbed, his breathing shallow and shaky and his chest aching from how hard his heart was pounding. Peter blinked at him, smiling as best he could. He was in agony, but his last moments would be seeing the love of his life and that was enough.

"Be happy, okay? For me. I love you." Peter's voice trailed off and his grip on Ned's hands loosened, his hand going limp and his brown eyes staring blankly into the distance, clouding over. Ned let out a broken sob and pulled Peter close to him in the hopes that maybe it would bring him back.

"Don't leave me. Please." He sobbed, his breaths coming out as gasps and wheezes.

"How can I- how can I be happy without you?" He exclaimed, gripping his fiancee's body even tighter against himself.

"How can I be happy without you?"
