Waking up, I saw Matt sitting next to me, smiling.

"You're awake! The operation went smoothly and you'll be able to use your shoulder again soon, isn't that great?" He said excitedly. So it really was all an act. He really didn't like Alexia. I was so happy that...

"Huh? Why are you crying?" He asked with a worried look on his face.

"I'm not crying of sadness... I'm crying with joy!" I exclaimed. He smiled again.

"The others will be here soon, they had to take the remaining Russian attackers to the police and tell The Wammy House of your situation" Matt explained. I looked at my shoulder in curiosity. It looked just the same except for a a medium sized white plaster was stuck onto it.

"I'm gonna get such a cool scar now" I said jokingly, but Matt's face turned serious.

"You shouldn't have done it" Matt looked away.

"But I did" I countered.

"Even after..." He stopped and looked at me.

"Even after you said those things and did what you did, I didn't believe it for a second" I continued.

For a moment there was happiness in his eyes, but they faded when I started to talk again.

"I couldn't have done it without the others, Ryusaki especially since he was the only one who believed me" Matt looked away again. Every time I talked about Ryusaki, he'd either look away or get a frustrated look on his face.

Matt opened his mouth to speak but closed it again as someone knocked on the door.

It was Ryusaki and the others.

"Hey Lizzie, feeling better?" Ryusaki asked and sat on the other side of me, opposite to Matt. I nodded.

---

After a while, the others left and I was once again left with Matt. He kept me company for the rest of the evening.

"How long have I been in hospital?" I asked him.

"About 26 hours" He answered.

"And how long have you been at the hospital for?" I asked him suspiciously.

".... 26 hours" He replied quietly. He knew exactly what I was going to say next.

"Go back home... I'm surprised visiting hours aren't over yet and you really need to sleep" I said in a motherly tone. He laughed and patted my head.

"You really have no clue where you are, do you?"

"Huh? I'm in a hospital, aren't I?"

"Yeah, but we got you a private room in VIP standards so we can visit you anytime! The only time I'll be leaving is when you can leave" Matt said, regardless of my demands.

"No you really need sleep..." I said worriedly.

"Okay, I'll only leave when you go to sleep" He chuckled when I started to pout.

"That's so not fair! But if it means you can get some sleep to...I'll do it" I said and immediately closed my eyes.

---

I fell asleep surprisingly fast, and when I woke up, Matt was sitting next to me.

"Matt! You said you'd leave if I fell asleep!" I whined.

"I did leave, but now I'm back" He replied smartly.

"What's done is done" He added and we shared a warm smile.

---

It was the 18th of December when I was finally let out of the hospital. Matt proved to be a man of his word and never actually came back to the Wammy House at all. When he said he'd left, he meant he left to go to the bathroom and never left me alone for 5 minutes.

We were finally back to normal.
