You Again?

Part 18

A few days later I decided to go out shopping with some money I saved up. It was nearly Christmas after all, and the Christmas trees have all been placed inside everyone's rooms.

I had to go shopping alone, since I didn't want anyone to see what I bought.

I looked around all the shops in the area and bought a few things. I got a chocolate fountain for Mello, A new rare toy set for Near, and a Lollipop holder for Ryusaki. I struggled to find anything for Matt though. I decided to buy a new coat, since the one he wears is tattered and the zip was broken. I thought that wasn't really enough so I got him a customised controller that was spray painted with his name.

At the end of the day I clapped my hands together and started to put the gifts under the tree.

"Wow, I bet you had a fun time doing some Christmas shopping today!" Mello cheered and shook his present.

When I looked at what I got Matt, it didn't look like much so I decided to go out again the next day.

I was peering into some shops when something caught my eye.

A watch glinted in the sunlight. When I looked closed there were lots of tiny wolves around the watch, containing an extreme amount of detail. I bet Matt would like it so I checked the price tag. It wasn't even something out of my league! I spent the last bit of my money on the watch and I asked the cashier to wrap it up in wrapping paper.

This was definitely a good idea. After I arrived back home I thought I could go visit Matt now. I knocked on his door. Hm? He's not answering but the door's unlocked. I peeked inside to check if anyone was there. Maybe I could place the presents under the tree and come back later.

When I walked back from the Christmas tree I bumped into Matt as he turned the corner. He looked confused. No never mind that, the only thing he was wearing was a towel around his waist!

"U-uh... H-Heyy Matt.. I was um... just uh..." I trailed off, trying not to look at his abs. He started to burst into laughter.

"W-What's so funny?!" I demanded. A few moments later he stopped laughing.

"You're reaction! Ahah!" He chuckled and wiped a tear from his eye.

"What, you've never seen a man shirtless before?" Matt teased.

"Uh.. usually they're all fat and ugly... the only place I've seen a hot guy shirtless is in a magazine" I said honestly.

"What so you think I'm hot?" Matt teased me even more, trying to hold in his laughter. My face was burning red with embarrassment.

"It's just awkward okay!? Now please get some clothes on..." I said quietly, looking away from him.

"Okay fine, but i've gotta get past you to get my clothes" He said as he walked towards the dresser. He deliberately stretched infront of me, showing off all of his muscles. I noticed a tattoo on his left arm. Without realising, I rested my hand on it.

"Couldn't give in, could ya?" He teased again. I shook my head.

"No it's not that, I just didn't know you had a tattoo, that's all" I said seriously, my face cooling down.

"Oh that?" He said but then he looked down in sadness.

"It's nothing. Anyway I have to get changed now... so you might want to go... or you could stay if you want to.." He teased for the final time.

"No way! that would be awkward!" I said immediately. He chuckled for the final time before I left his room. There was definitely something about that tattoo that brought sadness to him. It was a tattoo of a wolf. Maybe I shouldn't have got him a wolf watch if it would reminded him of something from the past.
