Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time there was a beautiful kingdom. The kingdom was ruled by King Clifford and Queen Olivia. For years the couple had longed for a child, and a few years later, they got their wish. A prince was born and they named him Jay.

A celebration was held for the prince. The celebration lasted a week, ending with a christening for the prince. The king and queen invited few people, only the neighboring kingdoms royal family and three elemental masters were invited.

At dusk the neighboring king and queen were at the palace. Queen Maya, her husband, King Ray, and their one year old son, Prince Kai, were soon in the throne room, delighted to see their friends.

They all talked for a while, until they heard a roar. One of their most trusted guards, and an old friend, came into the room, and said "The elemental masters have arrived."

Three men came into the room with smiles on their faces. The kings and queens were surprised to see not one, but both sons of the First Spinjitzu Master had come. Masters Wu and Garmadon, along with the master of ice.
They quickly bowed to the Kings and queens, and King Clifford said "It's an honor to have three such powerful elemental masters here tonight."

"Thank you, your majesty, it's a great honor to be here." Master Garmadon said. "Shall we begin?" Master Wu asked. The king and queen both nodded and the three elemental masters walked towards the baby in the queen's arms.
"Who wants to go first?" Garmadon asked. The master of ice quick stepped closer to the queen and said "My gift to your son is the gift of happiness." A small snowflake was created and it floated towards the baby, and landed on his nose. Then soon disappeared, and Jay giggled at it and sounded happy already.

The master of ice stepped back with the other masters. Next was Master Garmadon. He stepped up to the baby and said "My gift to the prince is the gift of bravery." A bright purple light was absorbed into Jay's skin. Jay once again giggled, happy with the gift.

"My gift shall be-" Master Wu started, but a bright light filled the room, followed by orange smoke. Everyone was shocked when the orange smoke disappeared and they saw an uninvited guest.

Nadakhan the djinn was in the room, floating by the entrance. "Hello King Clifford, I see you're having a party and didn't invite me."
"You weren't wanted." Garmadon said as his brother held him back from attacking the djinn.

"Not wanted, well this is awkward. I was hoping that it was just a misunderstanding. With that said, I'd best be on my way."

Nadakhan said and floated towards the door, but stopped last second. "And to show there's no hard feelings, I to shall give the child a gift."
The elemental masters took a defensive stance and got in front of the queen and her child.

"Listen well, all of you." Nadakhan said and smirked. "The prince will grow healthy and strong, but..." Nadakhan stopped for dramatic effect. "I wish that before the sun sets on his eighteenth birthday, he will prick his finger, on the spindle of a spinning-wheel, and die!" Nadakhan yelled to the royals, guards, and elemental masters in the room.

"No" Queen Olivia said. "Wait, why a spinning-wheel?"

Everyone in the room looked at her for a minute like she was crazy. "Okay, forget I asked." She quickly said.

Nadakhan laughed evilly and King Clifford shouted "Seize that creature!" But before the guards could get Nadakhan, he teleported away.

For a few moments everything was silent. Queen Maya was holding Kai tightly in her arms, and Queen Olivia and King Clifford looked at their son with sadness in their eyes.

Just as it looked like Olivia was going to start crying, Garmadon said "Don't worry your majesties, my brother still has his gift."

Clifford asked "Then he can undo this curse?" "I'm sorry your majesty, but Nadakhan's power is to great to remove the curse, but Wu can help." The master of ice spoke. Garmadon looked at his brother and said "Do what you can to help."

Wu took a deep breath and said "Young prince, if Nadakhan's plan does succeed then you won't died, but fall into a deep sleep, and the only thing that can break this cures, is true loves first kiss."

Everyone looked at each other until Olivia asked "So what do we do now?"

Wu answered "We wait, your majesty, we wait and come up with a plan."
