Happy almost Halloween. I know I posted a new chapter like yesterday, but I'm super bored and had nothing better to do. So enjoy the new chapter and comment on it please. 😊😉
5 years later
It had already been almost five years since Wu decided to stay in the palace to watch over the prince. Wu did miss his family, but they would often come and visit him. He would always be around Jay though, making sure no harm came to him. He was around Jay so much that Wu felt like Jay was his nephew. Although he did have a real nephew.

Nine months after Wu decided to stay at the palace, his sister-in-law gave birth to a child. His brother told him it was a son, and they named him Lloyd. It was one of the happiest days in Wu's life.

Wu was watching Jay play in the garden from the window. He looked around to make sure there was no trouble, and it was all clear. But Wu felt a little sorry for Jay. His parents wouldn't let him play with anyone from the village, and there were no other children in the castle. Jay always either played by himself, with Wu, or with on of his parents, who were often to busy. So, Jay was mostly all alone. Wu hoped it wouldn't be like this for thirteen more years.

Wu was so lost in thought that he didn't even hear the sound of footsteps until someone crashed into him.

As Wu sat up he saw who ran into him. It was a little boy. "Sorry mister, I wasn't looking where I was going." He said as Wu helped him up.

The boy looked about six years old. He had black floppy hair, green emerald eyes, and a bright smile on his face.

"That's all right, Who are you?" Wu asked, then heard some more footsteps. "Cole, I told you to watch where you're going." The head of the royal guards said as he grabbed one of the boys hand.

"I'm sorry Master Wu, my grandson is just excited. It's his first time in the palace." He explained.

"No need for apologies, it was just an accident." Wu said and smiled at Cole.

"Is he visiting for the day?" Wu asked. "Well, the king and queen are considered making my son-in-law, and his music group, the royal entertainment group, so they might move to the palace." He said and smiled at Cole. "That means I'll get to see this little rascal more often." He playfully rubbed Cole's hair, making Cole giggle and smile.

Wu looked back at the gardens where Jay was. He was just sitting on the stone bench looking over the palace wall. Wu looked at Cole and an idea came to his mind.

"Did you show Cole the gardens yet?" Wu asked smiling. The guard shook his head. "Then you should show him, it's such a nice place to play." Wu said again. That was enough for Cole to start running towards the gardens.

"What are you up to Wu?" The guard asked. Wu pointed to Jay sitting all alone in the gardens and the guard immediately got the message. "Oh, I get it now." He said as he and Wu headed towards the gardens.

Jay was just staring at the palace wall. He wondered what was happening in the village behind it and wanted to see, but his parents would never let him. They said it was dangerous in the village and they didn't want to lose their baby boy.

"Hello, who are you?" A voice said behind him. Jay turned around and saw a boy around his age smiling at him.

"I'm Jay, who are you?" Jay asked as the boy sat next to him.

"I'm Cole, do you want to play with me?" Cole asked.

"Yes, I do." Jay said and sat up from the bench. For the next two hours the boy were laughing and playing together, and it was the happiest time of Jay's life. He never got to play with someone his own age.

As the boys played Cole's father came out to see his father-in-law to tell him the good news. He told him that he and his group was the official royal entertainment. That mean he and Cole would be living in the palace.

Jay and Cole overheard this and smiled at each other. "This mean we'll get to see each other ever day." Cole said. "Yay, and that means we'll never be lonely again." Jay said. The new best friends hugged each other and celebrated their new friendship.

"Well Wu, it looks like their best friends already." The guard said.

"Yes, five years of protecting down, thirteen to go." Wu said and watched the new best friends run around the gardens.
