Marinette was working on her homework, as usual, always procrastinating to get it done. Rather than have it done she'd most likely binge watch TV dramas on Netflix and yell at the characters while her essays sat unfinished. Not tonight. No. Tonight she was too busy with tests to study for. Too busy with thoughts of a cat who would come by any minute. And much too busy worrying about the party which was tomorrow. Luckily, since tomorrow was Saturday she didn't have to worry a great deal about having her essay's ready by then. As timely as ever the cat had arrived knocking on her window hatch. She let him in and decided once again to hold off studying so she could talk with him. She needed to face the fact that many things had to be talked about.

"Hey, Chat."

He nodded in response, seemingly saving his words for what he was about to say. "Mari, we really need to talk." She knew this already. They both knew exactly what they needed to talk about because it had only been plaguing their minds. She sat on her bed leaning against a tower of pillows held up by her wall. "I know."

"Marinette. W-when we kissed the other night...was it.....did you mean anything of it? I've been thinking of it a lot, it keeps me awake even and I just wanted to know what it meant. What it meant to you, and what it means about...us."

The sudden question sent her mind in a spiral no matter how prepared she thought she was for it. Sure the kiss was spontaneous but it still meant something to her. As for what it meant about them...well, that was the part she was most afraid of. She knew Chat loved Ladybug and a piece of her heart still somehow latched onto Adrien like a leech. They had both fallen for two different people. It was a mess that she honestly had no clue how to fix. "Ch-Chat I still have feelings for Adrien no matter how much hurt he has caused me. I know he's bad for me but I just...It kills me to have feelings for two people. How can I follow my heart when it's pointed in two different directions?" If only she knew it wasn't that way at all. If only she knew she was stressing her beautiful mind over nothing. But no matter how much he wanted to, he knew he couldn't tell her.

Her gaze drifted to his eyes. "Chat? How did you feel about the kiss?"

"It was...amazing. It felt so amazing just being with you. And I know its bad to say this but I wish we could do it again and this time for real...because-"

She cut him off with her lips without need for any more explanation. Even though they had feelings for others their bond had grown stronger in the past couple of years. They felt comfortable, happy, and even a bit flustered around each other. Neither of them could deny it or pass it as if it were nothing.

"It was never fake Chat. I might not say what I mean sometimes but I never  act without reason."
