As he stared at the photo on his father's bedside, he noticed something he had wished he noticed a lot sooner. Some family secrets are better left untold. Love affairs, arguments, sibling rivalries. In Adrien's case, this secret was definitely better left untold. As he examined his mother's photo he noticed the oddly shaped broach resting on her blouse. It was so familiar he just didn't know why. It was silver tinted a brilliant blue and the design flared out smoothly. The craftsmanship seemed almost perfect.

His own thoughts were interrupted by the single tear that had fallen on the glass cover of the frame. He hadn't even realized he had been holding back tears. But now his mind was off of his mother and her disappearance. Now he was more interested in the accessory. He wiped his cheek with the back of his hand trying to examine the piece more clearly. Plagg looked at it wide-eyed.

He set the frame down on the nightstand and opened the top drawer. There inside was a small wooden box. He was quite familiar with it as he would always go through it whenever he could. Inside there were pictures his mom kept of their family. Just the three of them. He was much younger, only seven, in the photos. That was what made them so special.

"A-Adrien," Plagg whispered.

The boy looked at the kwami who seemed very shocked. He gave the little cat a questioning look before the cat hid in his pocket.

Strange.

But his confusion quickly turned to panic as his father opened the door. Oh no. Adrien bolted up closing the drawer with the box in it.

"What are you doing?" The man asked coldly.

Marinette continued to think of the earlier events that occurred in the Agreste mansion.
Adrien's words didn't necessarily scare her but her confidence was definitely affected.

'You don't know what you just did to yourself Dupain.'

What did he mean by that? The bet seemed well laid out. She would win and with the week that she had to control him she'd force him to change his ways and leave her alone. Come to think of it a week was starting to feel like too short of a time to force him to leave her alone. But it would be worth it.

"Tikki what do you think Adrien meant earlier? 'You don't know what you just did to yourself'?" Marinette asked the kwami as she took a break from staring at her laptop screen.

Tikki sighed holding back her laughter. "I don't understand how two people can make a bet and both instantly lose it." The creature said smugly.

"W-what do you mean Tikki?"

"You two are already in love with each other," Tikki answered bonking Marinette on the head.

"What? No way. I'm over him. I've been over him. If anything nobody will win. I haven't seen that boy show a single sign of love in years. Or hope for that matter. I think this whole thing is a lost cause." She rambled. Tikki shook her head laying down in her tinny bed.

"Whatever you say Marinette."

Maybe Tikki was right. Could it be possible she lost a bet the second she shook on it? No. She would never admit to loving that-that PLAYER!
