Their lips intertwined perfectly like their hands. For a moment he felt completely free from everything. His dad, his reputation. They were both blocked out from the rest of the world and that's how they wanted it to be. Always. Yet she pushed away.
.......
They disconnected and Adrien was left confused. Marinette looked away in a spiral of emotions. The moment she would have dreamt of experiencing; kissing Adrien. Her crush for god's sake! She just kissed him (oh but chat forgive her) she actually connected lips with him. For a moment she went back to the kiss her and Chat shared. She wasn't exactly sure why. Something about it made her feel as if she was caught between two different loves. As if at this very moment she was met with a fork in the road.
She wrapped a lock of hair around one of her fingers, carefully weaving it through the rest in a dazed state. Had she loved Chat too?
"Marinette?" Snap. She looked back at Adrien. His eyes gleamed with an odd emotion. Worry maybe? She stood up with her bag in hand. The bet was over and so followed a dreadful week of confusion. What was to come of it all?
______________
SUNDAY
The first day of the week Marinette would soon call complete Heaven or Hell. She awoke to the smell of sweet pastries and a beam of light shining directly on her face from the window. Everything all too normal at this moment.
She got dressed and ready for the day to come. Adrien hadn't given her a clue of anything he had planned for this week. The ideas that scattered her mind gave her no ease either. It was the anticipation that killed her the most. After their kiss, they surprisingly had no strange interactions such as the one in the hallway a few weeks ago. That was a moment she secretly thought about when she was alone. She felt particularly proud of herself for being able to tell him off. But still....when he held he against the wall that day she could feel something deep down that she most definitely couldn't deny. The way he pressed his body against hers and held her wrists gently but still enough for her to be immobile it was— stop. This was wrong.
To be completely honest she was so overwhelmed with her feelings that everything in her mind was fuzzy. Those feelings she had that day were not to be made a big deal.
Her cellphone buzzed frantically on her bedside table. It was Adrien. She picked up the phone after watching it ring for a few seconds.
"Hello?" The hints of worry in her tone were clear and she cursed herself for it. "Good morning princess." His nickname made her gag especially since Chat used it frequently.
"What do you want Agreste?"
"Just calling to inform you it's the first day that I have you at my mercy."
"Don't get ahead of yourself Adrien." Her attempt to sound confident miserably failed. A small chuckle could be heard from him and her worry grew.
"I think it's you that listens to me now." He said. Marinette could tell by the way he curled his words he was smirking. She was silent for a moment and proceeded to play with the lace edge of her shirt with one hand.
"Anyways...I need you to be ready by five, we're going to the movies."
"What?! A bit short notice don't you think? What if I don't want to?"
"It doesn't matter because you basically have to do everything I say now."
He was right. She really didn't know what she had gotten herself into. This whole thing was childish but she went through with it anyways. Maybe it was partly because she wanted to. The idea of not knowing what would happen excited her and she could feel her nervousness vanishing.
