"Oh holy..."
As I stepped out of the walk-in wardrobe, the girls stood in awe, their mouths hanging open.
It was Friday evening, just thirty minutes before the Sakura Springfest was set to begin. Despite our numerous rounds through the mall, we hadn't been able to find the perfect dress for me.
We had come across a few beautiful dresses, but they were too expensive for my liking. I didn't feel comfortable wearing something so extravagant.
"You look really good in that," Mina sighed, her eyes scanning me from head to toe. I blushed and played with my fingers, feeling a bit embarrassed. I was wearing a dark red dress with delicate rose details, a dress that belonged to Chaeyeon. She insisted I keep it, claiming it suited me better than her. I couldn't believe she would give me something so precious.
"No, I'm just borrowing it... why would you give away something that's yours?" I said, flustered by her generosity. Chaeyeon chuckled, flashing her pretty smile. "It's fine, really! I have plenty more dresses."
Jieqieong chimed in, giddy, "Just keep it!"
It was time to head to the Sakura Springfest, and the girls, dressed in their beautiful ball gowns, pulled me along with them. We stepped out of the dorm to find a limousine waiting for us in the compound.
We're going to ride this?" I exclaimed, shocked at the sight of the long vehicle. Despite knowing how wealthy the girls were, I was still amazed whenever they pulled off these extravagant stunts. "The Pink Blossom Hall is located at the end of the island by the sea, so we have to use vehicles to get there," Sohye explained. Surprisingly, all twelve of us fit comfortably inside the limousine, with plenty of space to spare. It even had a mini fridge and a television!
As we rode in the limousine, Somi excitedly pointed outside, "Look, it's so beautiful!"
I followed her gaze and saw a Victorian-style building brightly lit up, with waves crashing against the shore behind it. In less than twenty minutes, we arrived at the Pink Blossom Hall, where students from Sakura High School were already gathered, buzzing with excitement.
"I'm so excited for this year's fest!" Chungha squealed in anticipation, her eyes scanning the decorations.
Yeonjung asked, "Will we get to see the Kings dancing on the dance floor again?" Her eyes turned to Chaeyeon. Chaeyeon replied, "Mingyu promised to dance with me, but I'm not sure about the rest of the boys."
Yeonjung sighed.
"Are you still hoping for him to notice you, Yeonjung?" Sejeong asked sympathetically. Yeonjung's gaze got lost in thought for a moment before she put on a smile and said, "Nevermind! I'll just enjoy the night with you girls." The rest of us smiled back, supporting her.
Just as we were about to head inside the hall, Mrs Joo, with her usual stern face, called my name. We turned to see her approaching us.
"I require you girls to get seated at your tables right away. The event is starting," she ordered. The girls exchanged glances and quickly responded, "Yes, Mrs Joo. Right away!" They scurried off towards the entrance, but Mrs Joo held me back.
"Miss Kim, this way please," she directed me.
Confused, I asked, "Where am I supposed to sit?" I noticed a slight twitch in the corner of Mrs Joo's mouth.
"You have your own designated table. Hurry up! The event's starting,"
As I followed Mrs. Joo into the grand hall, the sight that greeted me was breathtaking.
