When I awake, I am in a carriage with three other people in it. There is another Nord, a Redguard, and an Argonian, which is a lizard-like man.

"Hey. Who are you?" the Nord says to me.

I say nothing. Best to keep my mouth shut.

"I'm talking to you." He steps on my foot. I wince.

"Hey, leave the man alone, would you Jack? He probably doesn't even know where we're going." The Argonian snaps.

"Ok, ok, I will. Why don't you try talking to this guy then, Simon?" Jack sighs.

"I think I will," Simon said looking towards me. "Hey buddy, I'm Simon, nice to meet you."

"The feelings are mutual," I say.

"Got a name or do we have to keep calling you Nord."

"Smith, my name is Smith."

"Smith. I like you, Smith. We have more in common than you think." Simon says grinning showing his pointed teeth.

"Oh?"

"Yeah, what are your charges, Smith."

"Theft and murder of 23 imperials."

"See we a quite a bit in common, I've got the same charges, except I killed way more imperials." He starts laughing.

"Oh shut up would you, your just trying to impress him." Jack butts in.

Simon stops laughing. "If you want a turn to talk, you can ask. But till then, back the hell off, would you?" Simon hisses. Jack turns away.

"Who's she?" I ask gesturing the Redguard.

"Oh, her? I wouldn't bother her. She went on a rampage, killing more than 100 guards. Ten of them she killed with her teeth when she was wrapped up."

"Oh," I said wincing.

"If your wondering, my name's Emma." The Redguard says not looking up.

"If you ask me," Simon says. "She's kind of a bit..."

"You have something to say, pretty boy?" Emma says grabbing Simon's neck.

"N-no, nothing at a-all." Simon chokes out.

"Good." She says letting Simon go. "You all better watch your tongue or I will kill you. Got it?"

"Yeah, I got it," Simon says putting his hands to his throat.

"Don't talk to me or about me, okay?"

"Okay, okay fine."

"Hey! Would you all shut the hell up? I'm trying to get us to Helgen and your blabbing isn't helping." The guard driving the carriage snaps. We all say nothing. "It's not that far, ok? Just stay quiet."

I turn so I can see outside the carriage. As we are riding, we pass under a roof of red and orange leaves and branches. By now, all the bears are hibernating and don't bother coming outside for anything. It seems almost... peaceful. In the distance, I hear a small family of birds whistling a calm tune.

After a while, we reach huge wooden doors that lead into Helgen. On my right, I see one of the towers that are at the corners of the castle walls. scanning the area, I see the chopping block. It's coated with dry, crimson blood. As we get closer, I can see the many coats of blood on the block. If I didn't know the chopping block was rock, I would think it was made of dried blood. We continue our ride into Helgen, allowing me to see all the homes and shops. Then we stop.

"Why are we stopping?" I ask with a shake in my voice.

"Why do you think? End of the line." Simon calmly says standing up. "Come. We don't want to keep the guards waiting."

We all get up and jump off the back of the carriage. Then two guards walk in front of us with a list in their hands.

"Guards love their damn lists," Simon mutters under his breath.

"Ok, walk up the block when you hear your name called." The guard on the right says. "Simon of Riverwood." Simon walks towards the block but then stops a few feet away from it. "Emma Stormcloak, Jarl of Riften." She walks to the block. "Peter of Rorikstead." He walks up to the guards but stops.

"No, you can't do this to me, I'm not a rebel!" Peter says. After he says that, he starts running towards the open doors of Helgen, then, he gets shot in the back with an arrow and falls onto the ground dead.

"Does anyone else feel like running?" The guard yells. No one says anything. "Good. Now we can continue. Smith of Lay... Layawyn?"

"Leyawiin. It's pronounced Leyawiin," I say walking next to Simon.

"Watch your tongue. Your lucky your getting the block." The guard says turning red.

I roll my eyes as I reach Simon. "The guards are really pissy, aren't they?" I whisper to him.

"Leyawiin? Where's Leyawiin, I've never heard of it." He whispers with a curious look.

"Leyawiin is in the continent Cyrodiil. I was born in Skyrim but just days after my birth our family left for Cyrodiil and I lived there till just a few days ago."

"Why did you even go to Cyrodiil?"

"My family was wanted and we had to go to Cyrodiil to not get caught."

"Then why did you come back?"

"I didn't realize I was inside Skyrim until I saw the guards."

"Makes sense."

"Alright keep it quiet while we call you all up one at a time to the block." A female guard yells.

At that moment, we all hear a distant roar. "What was that?" A guard says.

"It's just thunder. Carry on."
