Me and Simon continue through the building at a rapid rate. After around an hour of exploring, we finally reach a long hallway with a big door in the back with circle discs and in the middle of all the discs, there is a circle with what looks like a dragon foot with three holes for the claws.
"I told you Smith, and you didn't believe me," Simon says smugly.
"Oh shut up," I snap.
"Ok ok, calm down jeez."
"So how do we open the door smart one?"
"well, on the underside of this claw, there are symbols, three of them to be specific. The top one is a bear, the middle is a butterfly, and the bottom is an owl. The door has three symbols on it too. A butterfly, an owl, and a bear."
"So what your saying is they both have the same symbols. What does that do for us?"
"Well, the symbols on the door are on rings, so," Simon puts his hand on the outermost ring and then turns it, surprising us both. "Yup, just like I thought. The rings can be spun. So, what we have to do is spin the rings and put the symbols in the same order as shown on the claw." Simon says triumphantly.
"Ok, so bear, to butterfly, to an owl," I say as I spin the rings so the outermost ring shows a bear, the middle ring shows a butterfly, then the inner ring shows an owl.
Simon then takes the golden claw and puts the claws into the holes and turns it then takes it out. To our surprise, the door lifted up by itself, revealing a big room with an eerie glow of light lighting up the whole room.
Simon and I enter the room and I feel a chill creep up my back as I enter.
"Holy shit, this room is huge" Simon exclaims.
"Yeah, it's pretty big" I respond. We walk a few feet while bats fly overhead.
There is a small river in the room that has a mini bridge built over it that we cross. Stairs lead us up to a flat area with a giant stone wall with some scratches on it. I look at the wall closer. "I think I've seen these kinds of scratches somewhere," I say.
"You have? Where?" Simon curiously asks.
"In a book somewhere. It was some kind of language called downhaul. It was one of the books I read while in-."
"That's dragon tongue!" Simon exclaims.
"I know that, but I know this word right here. I don't know how, but it just kinda stuck to me." I say pointing to a set of scratches. "The word is fus which when translated to our language, is force."
"Force, well if you ever meet a dragon, you can tell it force."
"Yeah, I guess so. Fus!" I yell to the roof. Mere moments after saying that, a coffin that we didn't see coming in opens up and a draugr climbs out.
"Oh my god really," Simon says pulling out his bow.
"lif nu uv Zu'u fen krii hi" the draugr speaks to us. Simon fires off an arrow towards the draugr, missing. "Waan tol Los vir Nii fent kos. Ruz ful kos Nii" the draugr draws a sword and charges me. I pull out my sword just barely in time to block its attack. Simon fires another arrow, hitting it in the side. The draugr turns to Simon and shouts "fus ro dah," sending Simon flying.
"You son of a bitch!" I yell, sending the draugr stumbling back. I take a swing at it, hitting it right in the breastplate, dealing minuscule damage. The draugr looks up at me and starts backing up. I look over to Simon who is still on the ground. I then look back at the draugr, enraged because of what it did. "You will pay for that." I swing my sword once again, hitting it in the left shoulder, crippling it. The draugr takes a swing at me, hitting me in the leg. I let out a scream as its sword digs into my thigh. We look into each other's eyes. The draugr's eyes are empty, and emotionless, while mine is full of rage.
I pull out my sword from its shoulder and take another swing into his other shoulder, crippling it as well. I pull my sword and swing it once more aiming for the throat. The draugr predicted me and shouts "Fus ro dah," sending me back into the wall with dovahzul. I get up slowly, using my sword to help me up. I look up to see the draugr walking towards me. I take my sword and swing once again aiming for the neck, except this time, successfully killing the draugr. Its head rolls down the steps that Simon got sent down.
I slide down the wall and sit down. I use a healing spell on my leg, it stings while I do it. Once it is fully healed, I walk over to Simon.
Simon is slowly getting up when I get over to him. "You ok Simon, have a nice nap." I joke.
"Haha, very funny," Simon says getting to his feet. "I'm fine."
"That's good. Well, let's look in the coffin the draugr was in. It must have something in it worth our while."
"You go ahead and do that, I'm going to heal myself."
"Ok," I say walking back up the stairs. I walk over to the coffin and look inside. Inside is a stone tablet with some writing on it and a few gems. I pocket the gems and grab the stone tablet. "Hey look at this," I say showing Simon the tablet.
"What's that?" Simon asks, getting up.
"It has ancient writing on it, so it might have some value."
"What does it say?"
"It's unreadable."
"Fair enough," Simon says walking over to me. "Looks really old though."
"Probably because it is dumbass," I comment.
"Well your the one that didn't want to go through, you just wanted to go back with the claw, which would have been a bad idea because that is probably worth way more than that golden claw will ever be," Simon proposes.
"You do have a point, so maybe you're not as much of a dumbass. But how do we get out now?"
"I don't know, maybe that staircase will lead out," Simon says pointing to a staircase. "That might be a way out."
"Yeah, maybe," I say starting up the stairs. Simon followed.
We walk up the stairs that lead to another hallway. The hallway leads to a dead end. To my right, there is a switch that Simon pulls. Then, in front of us, the wall drops revealing an exit.
