We keep running and running until we cannot run anymore. We end up stopping next to a big river. The river is too dangerous to cross, so we decide to start walking downstream.
"Do you know where this river leads?" Simon asks me.
"Not a clue. Maybe we'll end up in Riverwood or even Whiterun." I reply. "I am still fathomed that we saw a dragon. An actual living, breathing, dragon. It's insanity."
"I know. I thought that dragons were only in legends."
"They were. At least 'till now."
We follow the river downstream for a good while. The river flows so smoothly, it looks like it's not even moving. I see fish jumping out of the water almost in perfect sync.
After a short while, we finally reach Riverwood, a little town with not much in it except for a small shop and a blacksmith.
"Aren't you from Riverwood Simon?" I ask as we approach the small town.
"Yeah, I am, but It's been a while since I've been there," Simon says pointing at the shop. "My dad worked there when I was little.
"I see. Do you think he's still there?"
"Doubt it, but you never know."
We walk into the shop to see a bar with a bunch of stuff on it. Behind the bar is a man in a red shirt and he is arguing with a woman.
"Well one of us has to do something!" The woman yells.
"I said no! No adventures, no theatrics, no thief-chasing!" The man yells back.
"Well, what are you going to do then, huh? Let's hear it!"
"We are done talking about this!" He looks in Our direction. "Oh, a customer. Sorry, you had to hear that. I don't know what you all heard but the Riverwood trader is still open.""Did something happen?" I ask politely.
"Yes, we did have a bit of a... break-in. But we still have plenty to sell. Robbers were only after one thing. An ornament, solid gold. In the shape of a dragon's claw."
"Solid gold! No wonder they were after it." Simon blurts out.
"I could help you get it back, for a price of course."
"You could? I've got some coin coming in from my last shipment. It's yours if you bring my claw back." He says.
"How much coin?"
"About 400."
"That should do." I sway starting to walk out.
"If you're going after those thieves, you should head to Bleak Falls Barrow, northeast of town."
"Thank you, we will be on our way," I say walking out of the store.
"Did you hear him? 400 gold coins! That's a lot." Simon exclaims.
"Yeah, that's why we're helping him."
"What do you mean we?"
"Your coming to. We'll split the gold."
"Or we could just steal his golden claw and sell it for way more."
"Yeah, I guess we could. But who would buy it?"
Simon starts pacing. "I don't really know. Maybe one of the Khajiit caravans."
"Possibly. Do you even know where one of the Khajiit caravans are?" I ask.
"No. They just kinda move everywhere. No one knows exactly where they are."
"Well do you know where Bleak Falls Barrow is?"
"Yeah, it's right up there," Simon says pointing to the peak of a nearby mountain.
"How the hell do you expect us to get up there?"
"There's a trail the whole way up."
"Weird, but ok. Do you know any magical spells?"
"A few. Why?"
"Just curious."
"Do you?"
"Just one. The book I learned it from called it lightning storm. Course I don't have enough skill with magic to use it."
"Ah, well I could teach you the few I know before we go."
"Sounds good."
For the next few hours, Simon teaches me all the spells he knows which includes flames, healing, and sparks. Then, we set foot to Bleak Falls Barrow.
