"Bu mubba i gog to ead it all bo i can get bib and bat like them!" Jay says around a mouthful of food, pointing around at all the brothers.

The entire table erupts in laughter, me included. I'm currently bent at the hip sucking in air as I gasp for breath through my laughter. As I bend upwards I look over and see Carly looking down at Jay in shock. Her mouth is wide open as she stares at Jay's head. I chuckle softly to myself and extend my arm over Jay's small form and stroke her arm softly. She flinches but recovers quickly as her head snaps up to mine.

"It's okay doll, he meant no harm. We all think it was hilarious, so don't fret" I say softly. She instantly shakes her head.

"No, that's not the problem. I mean sure, you all find it funny, but what if he was to say it to a teacher or a stranger walking down the road. I'm happy he's speaking more, he's never spoken so much since learning to talk. But I can't have him speaking like that as if it's the right way to speak." She says softly and gives me a small smile.

I can see where she's coming from, he is young. But I guess it's better to teach them now then later when she's being called to the school for calling some kid or something fat. I take my arm back and lay it on top of Jay chair before I bend down and tap his left shoulder.

"Hey little buddy," I say, and his little head snaps up to mine with a beaming smile. Damn, that smile. "I don't think big and fat is the right thing to say. It could hurt someone's feelings." His smile instantly vanishes as I hurry to put it back on his little face. "How about instead of fat, you say big... And strong? Huh?" I ask with a reassuring smile on my face. His face scrunches up in the cutest way as he contemplates what I'm saying.

He nods his little head and grins up at me. "Otay midder Swash" he shouts. With that, I'm ignored once again as he turns his head back to his plate and starts shoveling more potato salad into his gob. I shake my head with a smile and lean back into my chair. I sneak a peek back at Carly and see her looking at me with a smile. I give her my full attention as she mouths 'thank you' at me. I nod my head at her and grin wickedly, watching her face flush red. She turns back to her food and starts moving it around with her fork.

I look around and things are quiet, everything is peaceful. The brothers and woman are all speaking here and there while eating, their kids laughing and talking loudly across from each other. I feel eyes on me and snap my eyes to the left to see Prez grinning at me like a maniac. I shake my head and glare at him. I grab my chair and turn it to the right, facing it away from his annoying face. I hear him laugh loudly behind me and I growl lowly, making Carly face me with a confused look.

"Did you just growl at me?" she asks, her eyebrow raised. I blink and shake my head.

"No sweetness, not at you."

"Hm, you sure? Because you are literally facing me. Well, Jay actually, so are you growling at him?" she says, a bit of anger lacing her voice. My eyes widen and I shake my head more.

"No, no, no. I swear, it wasn't at you, babe, promise!" I declare, ready to punch the laughing baboon behind me. He's lucky he's the President or I'd be wiping that grin off his punch-able face.

"Uh-huh, that's why you're glaring at me now!" She says voice raised louder, snapping me out of my daydream. I shake my head and realise what it might have looked like. "No hun was just thinking of something unpleasant," I say, trying to pacify her. I hear the ladies and other mean all whisper curses, making me realise they're all listening in, fuckers.

"So you think I'm unpleasant?" She says calmly as she stands, picking Jay up into her arms as he clings to his plate and fork. "Then why did you invite me, you overgrown dick! I knew I shouldn't have come. You! You! YOU BIG HEADED FUCK-MUFFIN!" She says, screaming the last words before turning and storming off towards the car park, balancing Jay on her hip.

I hear snickers and cough-covered laughs coming from around me. Duke is hiding his face in his hands, his entire body bouncing up and down. I growl and stand up, turning to my President. "This is your damn fault" I snarl and stomp off after a furious Carly. The table full of people breaking into laughter behind me.

I break into a jog as I see her getting further away from me in her anger-fueled power walk. "Carly!" I shout after her. "Carly! Wait up!"

"Get lost, jerk!!" She shouts back, stomping up the wooden staircase.

I huff in annoyance before jogging up behind her as she reaches the carpark. Instead of heading to Ruthie's car like I thought she's already halfway across the carpark, heading for the road. I shake my head and sprint up to her, taking hold of her upper arm as I stop her stampede.

"Just wait, woman! You got it all wrong! I was thinking about the Prez because he was grinning at me like a dick! Not because of you! I'm happy you came today! Now let me catch my breath!" I huff out before bending at the waist, sucking in air deeply.

She pulls at my hand, trying to get her arm free, but I hold firm. "Whatever! It was a mistake of me to come. I can only imagine what type of girls you're used to, and they would be nothing like me!" She all but shouts, adjusting Jay on her hip as he licks his plate clean, utterly oblivious to what's happening around him.

"You're right, sweetheart," I say as I catch my breath. "You're nothing like what I'm used to," I say. She grits her teeth and yanks her arm harder. "But that's what makes you so much better. You aren't out for anything. You don't dress up like you're getting ready for a porno audition. You're perfect without even trying. You are true to yourself, and to others. You don't put on a fake show to try and impress anyone, you're just you.
From that beautiful mane of golden hair to your cute little pink coloured toes. You hold yourself with respect, and you don't give that respect to anyone who hasn't earned it. That's why I wanted you to come. You make me want more than easy, fake pussy. You make me want a real woman. A woman I can be proud and be proud of myself for having." I say, looking deep into the ocean blue of her sparkling eyes that are watering with unshed tears.
