"Husband?" I growl out.

I step back from Carly and look down at her, taking in her shrunken form. "What the fuck is he talking about, Carly?" I ask, cringing internally as I see her flinch at my use of her actual name. Something I never do.

"I-It's not w-what you t-think S-Slash... I d-divorced him y-years ago..." she whispers, keeping her head down as she speaks to me.

"Mm, no princess, that's not true." Carly flinches again as her... Whatever he is, speaks. "To be divorced, both parties need to sign the form," he says, a cocky smirk planted on his face.

I spare a quick glance around the area. My brothers are all at my sides while the women keep the kids busy. Turning my gaze back to the situation at hand I see Carly visibly shaking now, her whole body is trembling. Yet I can't bring myself to comfort her. Not until I know what the fuck is going on right now.

"I-I signed t-the f-form S-Sam..." she says, her voice still stuttering as she speaks.

"Yes, but I did not. You are still my wife Carly, and you will be coming along with me and MY son!" he growls out, his cool facade crumbling.

"NO!" Carly shouts, startling all of us. It's the first time she's spoken properly since this man arrived. "H-He is not your son! I won't LET YOU NEAR HIM!" she says, beginning to scream at the end.

Whoever this guy is, I'm getting the sense he's bad news. I've never seen Carly this vulnerable and that itself scares me most. I turn to look at Sam and step back up to Carly, placing a hand on her shoulder, feeling her flinch at my touch. "You need to leave, mate. And I suggest you do it quickly." I state, staring the smug bastard down.

I watch him closely, seeing him take a step back, raising his hands in front of him. "No need to get over-protective big boy, I'll go. But I will be back, my dear little wife and I have lots to talk about..." he says, backing up further before turning around and walking towards the carpark. Halfway there he turns around, a shit-eating grin on his face. "And make sure you cover your goods. Wouldn't be the first bloke she gave something too," he says with a scoff before turning around.

I hear a small hiccup to my side as the douchebag leaves. Turning my head I see Carly staring at Sam's retreating back with tears threatening to spill in her eyes. I gently run my thumb against her shoulder, not wanting to see her cry. "Carly..." I start.

She jumps slightly as I speak, shaking my hand from her shoulder as she wipes at her eyes. "I... I need to go. J-Jay still needs to cut his cake..." She says softly, quickly turning and retreating back to the shaded bbq area in the park.

Watching her leave, a pain starts out in my chest at the sight of her defeated form. I feel... Guilty.

I sigh as I shake my head. I'm a fucking idiot sometimes. I look to my left at my Prez and see him shake his head before stepping closer to me. "Come and talk to me, brother," he says, walking away from me before I can respond.

Knowing that what my President says is law, I follow after him, the noise from the party fading behind us as we walk into the shade of trees. I stop a few paces short of Prez when he himself stops. I keep silent, waiting for him to talk first. Not exactly keen on hearing what he has to say.

"You ever heard about this husband before?" he asks, looking me dead in the eye.

"No, asked about Jay's dad once and she couldn't even get a sentence out. Ended up dropping it. And Married? She's 21 for fucks sake! They must have shacked up the moment she turned 18," I say, rubbing a hand down my face. What a fucking bombshell.

"Hm. He looks like bad news Slash. The way he looked at Carly was enough to send a shiver up my own spine. No pretty little suit can hide those dead as fuck eyes. Haven't seen eyes like those since I was a kid looking into my own dads' eyes."

"Yeah, I was going to get Whizz onto him. See what I can dig up on the bastard,"

"You do that. But before you do, you may want to go check on your girl. She wasn't looking too good after that little show," he says, walking away from me before I can even reply. I sigh and watch his retreating back as he makes his way back to the party. I look around, spotting Carly easily amidst the small crowd of people.

Sighing, I suck up my pride and make my way over to her, squeezing between people to get through the mass of people. Finally, after a few shoves and grunts, I come up behind Carly as she's packing Jay's gifts into one big jumbo sized bag. "You okay babe?" I ask, coming up beside her. Her small frame jumps as I speak before she swings around, looking up at me.

Her eyes are frantic, showing her distress instantly. "I-I'm fine... Don't worry about me..." she says, turning back around to put the last few presents into the bag, zipping it up. She tries to lift it but fails miserably. I halt her arms, picking the bag up with a low grunt.

"Don't worry about this, I'll get the prospect to take it to your car, okay?"

"Fine," she says, still not looking at me as she picks paper plates up from lunch, throwing them in the bin as she goes. I frown as I watch her, handing the bag off to the prospect, telling him where to put it.

I shake my head and grab onto her upper arm, stopping her from moving. I ignore the flinch she makes and turn her around to face me. Keeping my voice low so I don't let everyone around hear our conversation. "What's wrong? If it's about that guy, you don't need to worry. I won't let him near you or Jay." I say, rubbing my thumb against her arm.

"It's not that Slash... I just... I can't do this..." she says, ending on a whisper, dropping her head back to the ground.

"What's that supposed to mean?," I grind out, anger filling me as my stomach drops simultaneously.

Carly shakes her head, pulling her arm from grip gently as she takes a step back. "This... Us... I... I'm sorry Slash...," she says softly before turning and taking off into the playground.

I stand there, watching her leave as anger fills my body like a burning flame. I can't believe she's ending this... Us! After I just defended her against her fuckhead ex! Well fuck her! She's just like any other cunt I know and she can go fuck herself if this is how she wants to play her headfuck games.

With these thoughts I shake my head and turn, heading towards my bike. I hear my brothers shouting my name as I get closer to my ride. Ignoring them I mount my bike, jamming the key hard into the ignition and starting my baby up. I slide my shades down over my eyes, looking out at the gathering. I spot her instantly, she's got a crestfallen expression on her face as she watches me.

She can get fucked. If she wants me gone, I'm fucking gone!

Backing out, I turn my bike to face the road and take off with a screech of my bike, speeding away from the park and the only girl to ever make me feel anything other than anger.

Fuck it all!
