Goodbyes

I've been very quiet recently. I've been spacing out in classes, purposely missing Quidditch practice, and I haven't even been talking to my friends lately, I couldn't even read a book properly! I've been asked if I was alright by many Professors and students, some I didn't even know. Most of the day I spent outside of class was in my room, ignoring everyone. I opened the letters that Headmaster Steward gave me. One was my Hogwarts acceptance letter, the other, a letter from the Weasley's.

Dear Ms. Y/n Devons,

First we'd like to say we are so very sorry about the accident. We can't imagine losing one of our family, but we'd also like to say we are so excited to have you! We have 7 children who are all rather happy to have another sibling. Our oldest, Bill, works at Gringotts Wizarding Bank as a curse breaker, our second, Charlie, works with dragons, Percy, third child, is a prefect and might be appointed Head Boy! I couldn't be more proud, Fred and George are twins and let me warn you, little troublemakers they are! Ron, our youngest boy is around the same age as you, dear, and Ginny, our youngest, is absolutely ecstatic to have another girl in the house. Mr. Weasley is a worker in the Ministry of Magic (Misuse of Muggle Artifacts) while I'm a stay-at-home mum. We will be going to Egypt this Summer so hopefully you will be with us that time.

                                                                                         Sincerely,

                                                                                                                  Molly Weasley

I sighed as I put down the letter. I decided I couldn't have a pity party forever. Summer is just in two weeks. I am going to leave this week and tell Allie and my other friends what was to happen. I packed and once I was done, I went down to look for my friends. They were under a tree in the courtyard where we always hang out. I took a deep breath and marched up to them. I expected them to be upset at me for not talking to them, but what happened next shocked me.

"Y/n!" Allie leaped and hugged me tightly.

"Are you alright? We've been so worried!" Said my other friend, Ruby Thompson.

"We thought you were dying!" Exclaimed Maraya Calypso, "Okay, maybe that was exaggerated." she said while pulling me into a hug.

"Well whats been up? You've got us all so concerned!" asked Cassandra Idler.

I took a deep breath and told them everything,

"...so I'm planning on leaving this week." I finished. Everyone looked so shocked and sad, Allie was on the verge of tears.

"Oh Y/n," said Cassandra, hugging me, "we'll miss you so much!" The others joined in on the hug. Allie finally let out a sob.

I talked to Headmaster Steward who owled the Weasleys that I was ready to go. I was pretty nervous. I was to leave the day after my exams. After the exams, I met up with Allie, Cassandra, and Ruby, and Maraya in the courtyard for one last picnic. We talked and laughed and cried. I made them promise to write. The time came and it was almost after curfew. We packed up, and walked to our dorms. I was going to miss this place.

The next day came and I grabbed my trunk. Instead of going to the front doors of the school, which is where I usually went on the last day, I went up to Headmaster Steward's office.

"Good morning, Professor." I greeted. He nodded at me and motioned me to come over. I saw him grab a deflated basketball and he tapped it with his wand, the basketball glowed a light blue for a moment and then returned to its normal state.

"Portkey." Professor Steward stated.

"To where, sir?" I asked.

"Kings Cross Station." He replied. I nodded.

"Once you get there, wait on a bench by platforms 9 and 10, the Weasleys will pick you up there." he instructed.

"Yes, sir." I replied. I was about to put my hand on the basketball before he stopped me.

"Oh and Y/n," he said, I looked at him in confusion, "stay out of trouble."

I smiled slightly, and with one deep breath, I put my hand on the Portkey. Goodbye, Ilvermorny.
