Xavier

"Byron, don't." He smirked and raised his eyebrow, with his arm held back ready to launch. "Byron Scott Harrison. Don't you dare throw that water balloon." I warned. I stood drenched and all out of ammo. Aiden and Kari were quietly standing behind him, ready to throw. "Making empty threats are we?" He asked sarcastically. "NOW!" As soon as I yelled the kids launched 10 water balloons at him causing him to drop his own and became completely drenched right before he had to be to practice. "We won! We won!" The kids began chanting. I stood giggling as he stood with a river running off of him. "That was dirty Xai." He said with a chuckle. He slowly started walking towards me and once I realized he was coming after me I took off across the backyard. It was a plus for the both of us to have a big yard for the kids but his yard was so much bigger. I was happy and so was my daughter. That's what mattered. As I was running to get away from him, I heard him behind me. Being the athlete that he is only made it that much easier for him to catch me. He wrapped his arms around me and swung me in the air. "Me rindo! Me rindo! You win! You win!" I shouted while laughing. He stumbled and we toppled over causing us to fall to the side in a fit of laughter. "I told you about empty threats. He had practice in 3 hours and it was going on the kids nap time. After getting them a bath I put them down for a nap and went and got a shower. I was sitting on Byron's bed when he stepped out of the shower to get ready for practice. I was doing some homework and it was hard to focus when he was standing in just a towel. "You are a distraction." I mumbled. He chuckled. "Then stop ignoring me and give me attention." I rolled my eyes. "I gave you plenty attention this morning BB." I whined. He dropped the towel and I cleared my throat to refocus my attention. "Okay. I quit." He pulled on his boxers and Khaki cargo shorts. He began looking through the drawers. "Top, left." He went exactly where I said and turned to smile. "Thanks. Wanna drive me to practice?" I raised an eyebrow. "And who's gonna watch Kari and Aiden?" He shrugged. "I'm sure moms don't mind doing it." I shook my head. "I can't ask her to do that." He walked over to the closet. "It's her granddaughter Xai. Plus Aiden isn't a bad kid. I'm sure she don't mind." I sighed. "Your just gonna ask anyways Byron so go ahead." He walked out of the closet with a grey under armor on and his cool greys. "Good. Cause she already said yes and should be coming in the house as we speak." I threw a shoe at him as I slid on my light blue shoreline chucks on. I had on a pair of acid wash jean shorts and a white t-shirt. My hair was wild and curly and I had in silver hoops. "I need to go by the store before you make it to practice so I can cook dinner tonight." I said as we headed down the stairs. "Thanks so much ma for watching the kids." She smiled and hugged me then kissed his cheek. "It's no problem. Don't worry they will be fine." I nodded and headed out the door to the truck with Byron.

"Can you go grab more brownie mix and caramel syrup for me?" I asked as I pushed the buggy. He kissed the side of my head and walked off to the next couple aisle over. I walked down to get snacks and cereal only to be stopped by getting crashed by another buggy. "I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there." I said as I was pulling mine back and over only to look up and see Lea from college. "Xavier? Gosh. What's it been? 3 years?" I cleared my throat. "Lea. Uh yea. 3 years." I answered hesitantly. "Angel is this-"  She smiled behind me. "Byron Harrison?" He looked up with a solemn face. "Lea Nelson. Been a minute." She nodded. "So what brings you to Seattle?" I ask. She smiled. "My boyfriend works for the Seattle Times and I'm still dancing. Just got hired for the team." I nodded. "Do you still dance? You were one of the best on the team?" I smiled weakly. "Our daughter inhibited that for a while." Byron answered for me. "Daughter?" I smiled warmly. "This is Bakari Aida Harrison." I said showing my wallpaper. "She is gorgeous." We thanked her. "I have to get to practice." I checked the time. "It's fine. Go ahead. It was nice seeing you both." I pushed the buggy away to get the last few items. We checked out then loaded up the car and headed off. "I was thinking." He started off. I raised an eyebrow. "You and Kari bug should move in with me." I gripped the steering wheel tighter. "I don't know what to say." He sighed deeply as I parked the car. "Just say you'll think about it." I nodded and kissed him before he exited the car. I pulled off and put Nadia and Lorie on bluetooth so their voices filled the car. I explained the situation of me and Byron. I told them about the store incident and him asking me to move in. "Why not give it a trial run. It's not like your going to lose the house Xai. Your dad bought it for you, so it's still owned." I sighed. "I mean we already say you practically live there and I'm sure Kari loves waking up to the both of her parents being there." I sighed. "Thanks girls. I have to go so I can relieve Sanya of kid duty." I hung up and pulled into the yard. I grabbed the bags and wlked inside. "I'm back!" I called as I began putting groceries away. I head the clicking of heels and turned to see Sanya walking into the kitchen. "Hey. I hope they weren't too much of a trouble." I said as I put the things away. She began to help. "They were angels. I do wonder tho. What is going on with you and my son?" I raised an eyebrow as I placed things out for dinner . "What do you mean?" She smiled. "Don't be shy Xai. Is this an arrangement for Kari or because it's what the two of you want?" I took a minute to think about his question earlier and hers. Just thinking about it made me realize that this is what we want not just for us but for our daughter too. "It's for all of us. We're gonna move in this weekend. Permenantly." She smiled. "I'm happy that you two were able to finally come together. I smiled brightly. "Me too." I said proudly.

Byron

"So you back with her after all these years?" I noddedas Zion asked. "At least it's on better terms this time." I chuckled. "I asked her to move in." I told him. "What she say?" This was where the problem resided. "I wanted her to answer so badly right then but I just told her to think on it but knowing ma she's gonna intervine and get an answer out of her before me." Zion chuckled. "All I can say is more power to you." I laughed then climbed out of the car. Soon as I walked through the door I could hear laughter. I smiled. I loved coming home to happiness and noise instead of quietness and lonliness. "Hey ladies." They looked up from what they were doing. "Hey." I was about to step into the kitchen when I was stopped. "Put that funky thing in the laundry room before you step any further." My mom said stopping me. "Yes ma'am." I walked from the laundry room to the den where the kids were sitting. "Daddy!" I smiled and picked Kari up. "Hey baby girl." I kissed on her cheeks then sat her down. "What's up A man?" He giggled as I tickled him. "Were you good for Gram Sanya?" They nodded. I gave them a high five and $10 a piece. "Let me go check on mama and Gram." I sat them down and went to the kitchen. "Rewarding them with money is not the way to do it." My mother said. I chuckled. "I was simply rewarding good behavior." She shook her head. "Your father used to do the same thing, god rest his soul." I chuckled again. "What can I say. It's in my blood." She snaked my arm. I kissed Xavier's cheek. "Hey." She whispered. My arms were wrapped around her as she finished the last of the food. We headed into the dining room. I placed the kids in their boosters seats and was about to sit down beside Xai until the doorbell rang. "I guess I'll get it."  I walked to the door, opening it to find Zion and Kinsley arguing at the door. "What's going on?" They pause and turn to me. I step out the door, closing it behind me. "Kinsley, what the hell are you doing here?" I asked sternly. "I brought her here." Zion reasoned. "Tell him or I most definitely will." She snatched away. "I'm sorry Byron." I raised an eyebrow. "I told the police you were hiding drugs in your house. You're under investigation." She said through tears. "It's taking every fiber in my being not to beat your ass. Luckily I don't hit women. Get out of Seattle. Get as far away from me as possible. Forget you know me. Forget I ever existed to you because if you do try anything or come again I will not stop Xavier from having her way with you." I was trying my best to hold my composure. "I'm sorry." She whispers while walking away. "Zion. You're my best friend and my agent. Fix this shit. I don't need that kind of burden on my family and I just asked her to move in." He nodded as we walked in the house. I went to the kitchen to grab more dishes for him. He took a seat beside my mother and I say beside Xavier. It was killing me to not fully be able to enjoy my family time because of some bullshit but I was naturally concerned for my daughter's well being. After dinner me and Xavier laid in bed after getting the kids to sleep as well. "You've been pretty quiet since dinner. If everything alright?" She asked. I pecked her lips. I just wanted it all settled for us. "Your answer is yes."
