CHAPTER TWO:
THREE STEPS AHEAD

GETTING READY, Timothy sighed as he looks at his outfit one more time. A white shirt tucked into a pair of jeans with a pair of his mom's old chuck taylors. He smiled slightly but then David walked in. "Ugh! You're seriously ditching on going with me to the arcade for Bill Denbrough and his friends? I mean, I know they're not really losers and they're pretty cool in some ways, but come on. You're ditching your best friend to hang out with them?" David said with a small frown as he sat down on the bed and Timothy chuckled.

He walks over, ruffling David's hair only to see it was greasy. Super greasy. "Oh, come on, we got all summer. I doubt they'll invite me to other stuff later." He says and David rolled his eyes. "Is something wrong? You're not usually liks this.." Timothy said, taking a seat beside him and David doesn't meet his eyes, staring at the ground.

"Um.. C-Can I stay here tonight? I don't wanna be alone or at home.. I can hang out with Parker while I wait for you to come back.." He says, stuttering at one part because he use to ask to sleep over before, this wasn't a first however as teenagers, he did use to ask to sleep over when they were younger but once they reached the age of twelve, he just stopped. Timothy never knew why because he didn't ask. He doesn't like to pry into Timothy's life.

"Sure.. Can I ask why?" He says and David looks at him once then looked away. "Um, you'll just think I'm crazy." He says, looking away and Timothy grabs his arm. "Hey, no, I won't.." He says and David still kept looking at the ground.

"I saw.. um.. Liv. She-she reached at my face and then slapped me.." He whispers and Timothy furrows his eyebrows together. "Liv, as in Olivia, who..?" He trailed off and David looks at him, nodding slowly. Olivia was a girl much older than them, she use to babysit David.

And molest him.

She was seventeen when she use to babysit David who was eleven, he didn't know what was happening whenever she touched him. She went off to college the next year and Timothy didn't know what was happening until he got the talk. And that's when he told his parents about Olivia.

They both thought he was lying or joking with them, so they never did anything about it. Whenever anyone even brings her up, David gets chest pains or suddenly can't breathe, he sometimes ends up just crying, breathless and hurt.

Olivia still was at college to this day, she's twenty-one and justice still wasn't brought. Even then, if he told other people, he would just be told he was lucky or he should've enjoyed it. David doesn't talk about it much, Elise and Timothy know not to ask or even bring her up, he'd just leave them.

"Like.. in a dream?" Timothy said, his face sort of scrunched up in slight confusion. "Um.. No. It was real. I was home alone, suddenly she was standing at my doorway, it felt like when she use to babysit me.. She walked over and.. touched my face so softly then she slapped me, spit in my face and told me it was all my fault, that.. I wanted it, wanted her to touch me there.. And behind her, I saw a clown standing at my closet door, peaking into the room.. It was fucking weird.. I ran away from her and I went to our spot.. I wanted to be alone but then I saw the clown again, so I came here.. I.. I was fucking terrified, Tim.." He whispered the last part and that's what threw Timothy off.. David doesn't get scared, he doesn't get scared easily, that is. They watched the Shining before once at the age that they were allowed to, but still, that didn't scare David.

"A clown?" Timothy asked with a confused look. "Yeah.. It.. It was tall, orange hair and a white face.. T.. I think he brought Liv here.." He says but Timothy shook his head. "No, Dave, listen to me," he says, grabbing David's shoulders. "Olivia is off to college, okay? She's far from here, and she's never gonna get anywhere near you, alright? Not with me here.." He says, nodding softly. "Okay.." David whispered then he went in for a hug. Timothy never gets hugs, from his family or two friends, so he hugged him tighter, pulled him closer to him.

"You won't ever be alone again, Dave.. You got me." Timothy whispered to him and David sighed heavily before he pulled away. "You really should go to your new friends.. I'll be here, with Parker." He says as he stood up and Timothy stood as well. "I'll be back as soon as I can, okay? I'll try and get home after a couple hours.." He says and David nods as he walks out the bedroom. Timothy picks up his backpack, quickly following behind.

He was kind of afraid of being alone now, he walks with David to the end of the hall where Parker, his younger brother's bedroom was. "You two have fun." He says with a small smile at David before he is walking down the stairs. "Ma! I'm going now!" He called out then opened the door. He walks out to the garage door that was open, his dad was working on that stupid car again.

He rolled his eyes, grabbing his bike, mounting it then driving off. He knew where most of the people he knew lived, so he was off to Eddie's place where he stops at the front, checking his watch. "Timmy boy!" Richie's voice caused him to look up, "Richie." He says with a small smile. Bill, Eddie and Richie all mount their bikes as well, Bill stops right beside him, smiling right away at him.

"Hey, T-Timothy.." The blue eyed boy says and Eddie looks between them with a small smirk growing on his face. "Hey Bill.." Timothy says with a small smile before he looks away, looking at Eddie who looked away, pretending he wasn't looking at them. "So, why are we going to the Barrens?" He asked as they all started driving down the street. "Looking." Richie said and Timothy looks at Eddie. "For..?" He trailed off and Eddie looked back at him.

"Used condoms. What do you think, Timothy?" The boy sassed him and he squints his eyes at him but then looks at Bill who wasn't talking. "Bill.. What are we looking for?" He asked and Bill looks down, then back up. "Um. G-G-Georgie.. Or maybe clues where he is.." He says and Timothy looks away. "Okay.. I brought flashlights." He says.

Eddie looks at him right away, "why?" He says. "Times like these, I have at least three, sometimes El, Dave and I go out and never come home until really late at night, hence why we would need flashlights, also, what if we get lost? I always think ahead, I'm always three steps ahead." He says and Richie snorts. "And Eddie is like fifty steps ahead!" He exclaimed loudly and Eddie rolled his eyes.

"Shut up, Richie!"
