CHAPTER FOURTEEN:
RUN THE OTHER WAY
AFTER ABOUT a month or half passed, Elise, Dave and Timothy still weren't talking. Neither were the others, Richie spoke to only Eddie and Stan, he was still mad at Bill, Ben went back to his usual library visits and El and Bev went back to secretly meeting at places like the Quarry or the theatres. El even invited her over a couple times.
Timothy however, hasn't spoken to Bill, he sees him sometimes whenever he's doing something out on the front yard or taking out the trash. Dave only spoke to El and Mike, he still refused to speak to Timothy even though he wanted nothing more than to tell Timothy all about his first kiss with Mike at the Quarry over that month or so.
It's officially August now and Timothy was dreading the fact summer was nearly over as he ran around on the front lawn with Parker. "Hey, Park," he says and Parker stopped doing his cartwheel. "What?" The boy said with a smile.
"Never grow up, stay young forever," Timothy said and Parker only giggled at that. "But I have to grow up eventually, become big like you." Parker said, raising his hand up towards Timothy who merely laughed. "Okay, but like, stay young at heart." He says, putting a hand to Parker's chest.
"Alright, Timmy!" Parker exclaimed before he did another cartwheel. Timothy spent a while longer outside with his brother and eventually they laid across the grass side by side. "Hey.. If you see a clown, bud.. Run the other way. Run as fast as you can." He tells Parker as he sat up.
Parker sat up as well, looking at him, "why? I love clowns." Parker said with a wide smile and Timothy sighs. "Just.. one in particular okay? Orange hair, creepiest eyes ever, and.. majorly tall.. Just run the other way, okay? Trust me, Park." Timothy tells him then he looked over to the Denbrough household, saw Bill staring at them through the window. Parker noticed and waved right away, Bill waved back then he walked away from the window. "Huh.. Wonder what's wrong with Billy.." Parker said and Timothy sighs, standing up.
"I kissed him and his brother is missing.. Park, come on, let's head inside." He says and once inside, Parker had to ask, "kissed?"
"Yeah, pucker your lips like this and touch them. We did that." The fourteen year old said to his younger brother as they walk up the stairs. "But why? I thought only-" "girls and boys could? No, girls can kiss girls and boys can kiss boys, but.. make sure you kiss someone that feels the same, because Bill? I don't think he feels the same way." He says as he walked Parker down the hall.
"Oh, he does." Parker says with a convincing smile and a small nod before he then shut his bedroom door and Timothy chuckled, shaking his head slightly before he walks into his own bedroom where his phone started ringing, and he sighed, picking up the phone. "Get your ass down to the house on Neibolt in fifteen minutes!" David's voice shocked him but still, he put the phone down and grabbed things they might need, which is why he takes a bunch of flashlights, bottles of water and a weapon which was just a pocket knife his father had got him.
Soon enough, he reached the house same time as the others, he doesn't even look at Bill as he walks over to David who put a hand on his shoulder before they all walk past the gate, into the front yard of the house. "Guys, spikes.." Bill said and Timothy takes out a pocket knife as David held up his baseball bat, it was covered in nails. Just by looking at it, you can tell it was extremely rushed. Timothy figured David got scared one night and made it to protect himself incase it came after him next.
Timothy smirks slightly when he saw Eddie throw his fannypack away. "Finally," David. "So.. who was taken? Bev and El?" Timothy asked and David nodded the same time as Bill. "I-It took-" Bill was cut off by the sound of glass smashing, they all look over only to see Richie hold up the rim of a glass bottle, he throws it away seeing how he didn't even break it enough to be a weapon. "Anyway.. uh, yeah, it t-took Bev, and then E-El.." Bill said and Timothy looks down. "We're gonna get them back," he clarified and Bill nods with a small forced smile.
All of the teens started to head inside but then Ben stopped, turning, "Stan?" He said and they all looked back to see Stan at the entry of the house. "Stan, we all have to go." Bill said and Timothy stepped over, standing right there at the door. "Beverly and Elise were right, if we split up like last time, that clown will kill us one by one." Bill continued. "But if we stick together, all of us, we'll win." Timothy said as he held out his hand. "Come on.. I'll make sure you'll be fine. You'll come out of this house without a scratch on you, okay? I promise.." He says and Stan sighed, looking down at his hand.
"Fine.." Stan whispered, grabbing Timothy's hand and walking in with him. Timothy turns around, nodding to the others before they continue into the house, heading down to the basement where Timothy and Bill saw the well. "Hey Eddie, you got a quarter?" Richie said as they approached the well. "I wouldn't want to make a wish in that fucking thing." Eddie said in response as they all pointed their lights down towards the well.
"Beverly?" Ben called out.
"How are we suppose to get down there?" Mike asked and Bill looks around. "Rope." Timothy said as he points. And so they all worked together before throwing the rope down, "I'll go first, make sure it's safe, alright?" Timothy said but Bill shook his head. "Nuh-uh, I'll g-go first," he says before climbing up and Timothy sighed.
"Bill, please be careful.." Timothy said, putting his hand to Bill's back. "Always." Bill said but Timothy simply rolls his eyes at that, but still smiled as the boy started to climb down. "Alright, um, I'll go next.." Timothy said then he climbed up as well, going down the rope to where Bill was.
"Make sure Stanny boy gets down safely," Timothy calls out as he climbed into the hole next to Bill who looks at him. "W-Why'd you hold his hand?" Bill whispered to him. "Because he was scared," Timothy said as he watched Eddie make his way down. "But you d-didn't have to.." Bill said and Timothy looks at him with a small smirk.
"Now isn't the time to be jealous, Denbrough. You're still the most gorgeous boy in Derry to me." He says and Bill looks away. He was blushing, completely forgetting that in Timothy's eyes, he wasn't only okay looking, he was gorgeous and it really wasn't the right time but he couldn't help it. He was jealous, he was jealous of how Timothy held Stan's hand. He'd rather prefer it was his hand.
And then so it was, Timothy grabs onto his hand gently, "once this whole thing is all over with, we can talk about us. Promise.." He says then he leaned in, pressing a small kiss to Bill's cheek gently before he pulled back from him. Bill blushed more as they both then helped Eddie.
