CHAPTER SIXTEEN:
DEFEATING IT

RICHIE TOZIER swings the bat, hitting the clown as Timothy ran over to Bill who he grabbed onto. "What the fuck Bill? I would never leave you behind, and you can never convince me to do so," he said as Bill stood up, him helping. "Come on, w-we gotta help.." Bill said, almost completely ignoring the subject and Timothy nods, picking up a weapon, which he was about to swing at the clown but he stopped with his weapon midair because it was suddenly Bill staring right at him. "You don't wanna hurt me, do you now, T-Timothy." It copied Bill's stutter but Timothy knew it wasn't him so he hit him with the weapon.

Stan went for it next but it turned into the woman he was afraid of so they kept hitting It over and over. Timothy is taken back by Ben running over and stabbing It, but then it turned into a zombie, so Bill grabs chains which he starts to hit It with. They all hit It until It turned into a leper that puked all over Eddie who started screaming loudly, "I'm gonna kill you!" before he kicked It.

David was about to hit It with his bat but then he saw Liv staring back at him, "you know you wanted it!" The nineteen year old said harshly but then he held up his bat and hit It across the face, so then It turns towards to Beverly, as her dad. "Hey, Bevvie, are you still my little—" Beverly cut It off by screaming and raising her weapon which she sent into his mouth, "oof," David muttered.

The ginger backs away as the clown spits out the bar, making David look down, wide eyes as he had dirty thoughts making Timothy roll his eyes. The clown started to back away, all the way as they all started to walk closer and closer.

The clown is chuckling as It stared up at Bill who Timothy looks at. "That's why you didn't kill Beverly.. Because s-s-she wasn't afraid." Bill said and Timothy looks at Beverly. "But Elise was!" The clown said with a wicked grin and Beverly looked down. "But we aren't afraid. Not anymore." Bill said as the clown started to whimper.

"Now you're the one who's gonna be afraid. Because you're gonna starve." Bill says and Timothy looks at the clown who threw itself over the edge of the hole, holding on. "He thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts." The clown said over and over, stuttering as David held out his nails covered bat to Bill.

Bill grabbed it, holding it up over his shoulder and then the clown dropped down slightly more, only holding itself up by It's fingers. Timothy watched It's forehead crack open and the pieces float upward, "fear." It whispered once more before he completely let go and fell down.

"I know what I'm doing for my summer experience essay." Richie said and David laughs lightly at that as Timothy turns to face Bill who looked back at him, stepping closer and wrapping both arms around him. Timothy wrapped his arms around Bill's waist tightly, sniffling softly as he put his forehead to Timothy's shoulder. They kept in each other's arms until Eddie spoke, "guys.. The kids are floating down." He said so Timothy lets go, looking up.

Bill walks away, dropping the bat he held so Timothy looks over. Timothy walks over to see Bill was jolding a raincoat. It belonged to Georgie. He staryed sobbing so Timothy put his arms around him, putting his head to Bill's then all of them joined in on the hug. After the long hug, Beverly lead David and Timothy all the way over to where Elise was laying. "I-I don't know how she was stabbed but she was bleeding and I-I couldn't help her.." Beverly said with a sob, realizing El died because of her.

"It wasn't your fault.." David said as Timothy walks over, kneeling beside Elise who looked peaceful, her eyes were shut because of Beverly doing so. "I loved her, I loved her like my own sister and she was the most wonderful person I ever met.." Timothy said as all the others walked over, either gasping or looking away when they saw Elise.

"W-We didn't get here on time.." Bill whispered and David looks at him. "No, Bill, it wasn't time or.. us, or anyone. It was It, It killed Elise and we're not gonna be sad about it, okay? We'll be stronger because of this, we won't let it destroy us." David said so all of them looked over at him.

"Elise was a wonderful friend, she was a daughter, she was a sister, she was.. a granddaughter, a best friend and we will honour her." Timothy said and Bill walks over to him, putting an arm around his waist. "It wasn't your fault, Timmy.." Bill whispers like as if he knew Timothy was thinking that already. Timothy sighed, looking down then up at Bill. "I know.." He whispers and Bill leans in, pressing a kiss to Timothy's cheek.

"She was pretty funny.. She always joked and said I was at a higher speed at talking than others." Eddie said and they all look at him. "You were, Eddie Spaghetti." Richie says making the boy roll his eyes. "We can't leave her here.." Timothy says and Beverly looks at her. "And what will we say? She fell? She-she-" "Yeah. She fell. She didn't watch where she was going and we couldn't get to her in time, and that it wasn't anyone's fault." Timothy says and Beverly looked down, nodding.

"Dave, look for a blanket or something? We have to take her.." He says and so they did, all of the Losers carried her out and all the way to where they know people can see them, where they set her down, Timothy was full on weeping as cops approached them. All of them got questioned seperately before they finally got to go home. Eddie got in trouble with his mom who drove him home, Richie was driven home, Ben got picked up by his parents, Mike got picked up by his grandfather, Stan was picked up by his father and now it was Beverly, Bill and Timothy left on those seats.

"She loved you, you know?" Timothy whispers to Beverly who simply nods, grabbing his hand. "No one's picking me up for sure.. Because my dad.." Beverly trailed off then she looks at him. "Elise was one of the most wonderful person I ever met and I know I'll never met anyone quite like her.." Beverly whispers and Timothy looks down. "I didn't think.. I would find her like that. She always seemed stronger than all of us, but I guess she gave in." He says and Beverly sighs, nodding.

Then his father walks in, "um, Bill, I'll see you? Talk about this later?" He whispered to Bill, pointing between them and the boy only nods before he stood up and walked over to his father. The whole ride home, it was quiet until the car came to a stop. "How the hell did Elise die?!" His father yelled loudly making him flinch.

"Elise?! Elise Morgenstern?! Sorry, I'm trying to be easy on you, but come on?! Your mom's best friend's daughter?!" He says and Timothy looked at him with tears in his eyes. "She was my best friend too. Elise was my best friend! And she died! We weren't looking and she fell somewhere!" He says and his father sighed, looking down.

"I don't know how it happened, but it was my best friend, dad! And I just spent two hours at a fucking police station answering questions about my best friend who's dead now! How do you think that makes me fucking feel? It wasn't my imagination!" He raised his voice. "Get out.. You're not gonna get punished for something like this but get out.." He says and so Timothy did, he ran into the house, all the way upstairs and into his bedroom where he spent hours upon hours crying in bed.
