CHAPTER FIVE:
I SAW IT

DURING A really awkward dinner between the Davidson's and David King, only the sound of a light thud of a glass cup onto the table and forks scraping across plates lightly from mainly Parker. He was the youngest of the Davidsons, the respectable family of Derry, Maine, mostly because everyone claims they're rich, Raphael Davidson claims otherwise, he was only a lawyer anyway who had the occasional hobby of working on his old car.

And then there was Betty Davidson who was a doctor, not only that but the Davidsons were perfect, the high school sweetheart couple and their two perfect sons, Parker and Timothy Davidson. If he was being honest, David kind of was jealous.

His dad was never home, always on business trips and his mom was always working shifts at the diner that was open all day and all night. He wanted a picture perfect family like this one his best friend had, who he was kind of jealous of. He denied it, but the feeling was there, deep down.

"I'm done.." Timothy said as he stood up, walking to put a kiss to his mother's head. "I'm gonna head upstairs now, Dave, you coming with?" Timothy asked and his friend nods instantly, getting up to follow behind right away.

Once in the bedroom, Timothy sat at his desk, sighing as David laid across the bed, rubbing his stomach. "Your mom makes excellent roast beef.." He said and Timothy chuckled, looking away. He thinks of the clown again and suddenly he was afraid again, rubbing his own arm.

"Hey, what's up?" David asked as he sits up and Timothy looked over. "I saw it.." He says and David squints his eyes in confusion. "It?" He asked and Timothy nodded. "The clown. I saw it, it.. was here.." He says, rubbing his eyes then looked down, before looking back up. "In this room?" David asked as he stood up with worry.

Timothy stood as well, grabbing his arms, "David. Listen, it's fine.. It-it wasn't real.. My room is normal, I.." He paused and looked down. David reached out, grabbing his shoulder gently. "Hey.. You can tell me." He said and Timothy sighed. "The room started shrinking.. and shrinking, I couldn't breathe and I felt like.." He said as he looks up.

David frowned when he saw Timothy was about to cry, he pulled him into a hug, sighing softly. "It wasn't real okay? The room, is fine, it wasn't real, neither was that fucking clown.." He says and Timothy just keeps crying, hugging back.

"It just felt so real.. But I know it wasn't.. I know, it-it made me see it, to make me scared or sad.." He said as he pulled away and David sighs. "So.. you're really claustrophobic?" He asked and Timothy looks down. "Yeah.. I always have been." He says and David's mouth opens slightly.

"At least it wasn't real, plus, look at this fucking house, it's huge ass shit, not even the closets are small, it's the size of my bedroom." He says and Timothy sighs, sitting down. "Hey, uh, about your fear.. Liv won't ever be back." Timothy says and David looks away, nodding. "I know.. I-It wasn't real and I know it now." He says.

"Besides.." David trailed off. "Besides what?" Timothy said as he looked back up. David only smiled more then he leaned in, pressing his lips gently against Timothy's before he stood up, pulling his hand away and walking over to his backpack on the ground by the dresser, kneeling.

He takes out clothes, a set of pyjamas. "Dav-" "Don't make it weird, please.." David said, looking at him for a second then looking back at his clothes which he sets onto the dresser. "I didn't bring a bathing suit for the Quarry tomorrow, so I'll be going swimming in my boxers." David said as he stood up and Timothy nods. "And I don't own one so I'll be doing the same." He says and David nods.

"It didn't make this weird, did it? Because if it did, I so take it back." David says and Timothy shook his head. "No, just that.. I don't feel that way. I still like-" "Bill, and I know that, T, I don't feel the same too, it was more of a.. platonic kiss? If that's even a thing," David said as he sits next to Timothy who chuckled lightly, looking down.

"Okay.. Sure, Dave.." Timmy said, nodding his head as he looked at him then looked away. David only smiled, looking away, "besides you're not my type and I realized that as soon as we kissed." He says and Timmy looks at him with raised eyebrows. "Then what's your type?" He asked.

"Okay, have you ever seen that home schooled kid? I think his name is Mike Hanlon, not sure but he's my type, definitely. He's got the perfect smile, the perfect body, he's just definitely my type and.. I wanna get to know him more." The blonde started to ramble at this point and Timothy laughs.

No one ever got David King this worked up before, because come on. David King? No way. He doesn't usually have feelings for anyone, maybe platonic ones for his two best friends but never romantic ones, he always only talks about making out or having sex, but never someone he'd date.

This was all a shock for Timothy as David continued to talk about Mike Hanlon, especially of how he always had a fantasy of running into him at some store in town and if Henry Bowers showed up to be a dumb bully to Mike, he'd stick up for him. Timothy found it all cute, he was always the one rambling off about Bill but now it was David's turn and it was about Mike Hanlon.

When it was at night, all Timothy could think of was what he saw and then the clown, he was terrified, almost just like how David was. He couldn't stop thinking, worrying, wondering especially about if other kids their age were being the targets of this unknown clown, if maybe It was being all the kids in Derry going missing.

It was messing up Timothy mentally and each time an hour passed, he'd look at David who was asleep on the other side of the double sized bed, snoring as he faced the other way. Timothy went back to staring at the ceiling, worrying again.

Around two in the morning, David was mumbling words, "no. Don't touch him!" He said loudly as he sat up and Timothy sat up as well, grabbing his shoulder. "D." He says and David looks at him, sighing in relief as he pulled him into a hug. "What's wrong, David?" Timothy asked and David pulled away, sighing as he rubs his forehead.

"It.. it was just a dream.. Henry exposed you and Patrick to the school and then everyone was beating you up, Patrick said you raped him, and I couldn't help, I-I-" "It was a dream, relax, Dave. Henry doesn't know dick about it and Patrick would never throw me under the bus like that. We had a deal and shook hands on it." He says and David sighed, nodding before he laid down.

"What's up with you? Why are you still up?" David asked as Timothy laid down as well. "Can't sleep, all I can think about is that stupid fucking clown.. I.." He paused then looked at David who was already looking at him. "I'm worried. What if It is the cause of the kids going missimg? And.. It might come for Parker, or El, or Bill, or the others," he said and David sighs, reaching over for his arm.

"It will be okay.. Just try and get some sleep, yeah?" He says and Timothy sighed, nodding. "I can't sleep.. But I'll try." He whispered and David only nodded, looking away so he can try and sleep too. Timothy faced the other way, closing his eyes as he clutched his blanket to his chest tightly.
