Winter

The next morning I woke up immediately dreading it. Today, we were to get our timetables and it would be awkward as anything for me. Aline and Olivia would expect me to sit with them in combined class with Ravenclaw. No matter what toast I had made in my anger yesterday, I still loved my twin. But I also didn't want to lose Aline! Oh well, I'll have to cross that bridge when I come to it. We got our timetables at breakfast, we had first class alone with Professor Malfoy but our second class was Charms with Professor Patil with the.... you guessed it Ravenclaws. Well, awkward situations, here I come.

Potions was a nightmare! It started out fine, I got my assignment and began brewing my Boils Potion. My potion was going fine and then I pulled out my wand and began working on the magic part of my potion. Then, disaster struck and not because my potion exploded or anything, but because nothing happened! I waved my wand uselessly and got frustrated and yelled the incantation. And then the tiniest amount of power showed up to make my potion presentable.

Of course, Professor Malfoy saw all of it and decided to make snide comments about my "incompetent magic" till the end of class. Aline got so mad at Professor for this, she broke past his mental shields and earned us both detention on the first class of the first day.

"My twin's gonna be in our next class and she's gonna expect me to sit with her," I told Aline.

"You'll sit with me anyway, right? Who cares what she wants?" she replied, defensively.

"Yeah, I will. But I'll have to let her down slowly," I replied, unsure and she nodded, buying it.

Olivia

I went down to breakfast with Ian, Cooper and Brynn. We met up with Cooper and Ian in the common room and surprisingly, they both already knew each other. Apparently, they once went to football club together, boys. After breakfast, we were handed our timetables. I had transfiguration with drumroll please..... Professor Granger and then.... oh no, Charms with the Slytherins..... Ah well, what can I do?

Transfiguration went beyond my expectations well. I sat with Ian and when Professor Granger entered, I held myself back from making googly eyes at her while Ian smirked at me. She gave us a lecture about the transformation formula, which is that the intended transformation is directly influenced by bodyweight (a), viciousness (v), wand power (w) and concentration (c). I took really good notes and was so satisfied with the lesson until remembered what awaited us next, Slytherins and Winter.

By the end of the lesson, however I had an action plan. I whispered to Ian, "You mind coming to the next class five minutes late. It'll save me from an awkward situation."

"Uhh.... no, I didn't expect to have a perfect record here anyway. I don't mind, I'll stop at the toilet and get caught in a water fight," he smiled.

"Thank you so much! I'll explain why later, kay?"

"Sure," he said and walked out of class. I caught up with Brynn and Cooper, "Ian's heading to the washroom. He'll catch up with us in class," I told them. They looked puzzled but nodded.

Winter

Aline and I were the first Slytherins to enter class. The Ravenclaws had already taken their seats, scattered in the front and middle benches. We took a seat in the back. Olly had a seat in the middle rows. She turned around and waved at me. I mouthed "hi". Some expression crossed her face, was it relief? I had to know. I looked to Aline and she said,"Go do what you have to."

I walked to Olly. "We haven't talked," I said.

"I know and I also know we need to have a really long one."

"Were you saving this seat for me?"

"Do you want it to be saved for you?"

"I'm sitting with a friend."

"I noticed. This seat was for a friend too."

"Olly... it doesn't have to be like this."

"Be like what Winter? Like the fact that we're scared to have a class together because we don't know how the other will react or the fact that we haven't talked for two damn days and don't know how to be around each other anymore."

"Why aren't you looking at me in the eyes, Olly?"

"Because it feels like you've changed. You're friends with a hippie with streaks and you've gone through this big personality change from sweet, innocent Winn to arrogant, i-feel-like-im-in-the-presence-of-a-ticking-bomb Winter." Ouch. This rung a bell in a distant Winter but me right now saw red.

"Let's get two things straight. One, she's not a hippie, she's a Longbottom who's a bigger rebel than you'll ever be. Two, I'm the same person, you're just blindly putting me into a Slytherin stereotype so wake up woman!" I said and my brain instantly went, ooooh burn! A ravenclaw boy walked in as I walked away from Olly and looked at me worriedly. He then went and sat with her, so that's her "friend". I sat down as Professor Patil walked in to start the charms class. Aline quietly fist bumped me and I knew she had heard the whole thing. One point for team Winter!

Olivia

I admit I was harsh forcing the whole Slytherin stereotype thing on Winter but she did push me to my limits. And god bless Ian, he entered class and didn't make a fuss out of anything. He just sat next to me and asked me if I wanted to talk about it. I told him I'd fill him in after class and turned my attention to Professor Patil.
