Elisia's pov
It was the next day and Lia and I decided to do another one of those dress each other days… I mean it's not that bad. It's not like she has a horrrrrible sense of style. And it's not like I hate her style… it's just not my preference of style. Beanies don't necessarily like me, but thankfully, there was no beanie this day. Anyway once we got dressed, we decided that we would go bowling around one or two, we tend to get quite competitive when it comes down to things like that. So once we got there, paid and got our bowling shoes we went down to our assigned lane.
“Dang it Lia! Another strike?!” I complained as she got her third strike in a row. I think it’s called a turkey but who knows. I sure as heck don’t. It was my turn again and just so you know...I can’t properly bowl.
People have tried to teach me but I could never seem to get the hang of it, so in the end, whoever was teaching me at the time just gave up. So since I can’t properly bowl, I just stick to the little kids version. You know, where you swing the ball between your legs and let go after counting to three? I mean it hasn’t exactly failed me yet so I don’t really care. Surprisingly Lia was only a few points ahead, and I was on my first throw of my last turn before the first game ended. The tension was thick as I swung the ball and let go.
Time slowed down as the ball rolled down the lane. For a second it looked like it was going to turn into the gutter but it didn’t. The ball finally got to the end of the lane and...it hit the center pin, knocking them all down, giving me a strike and ending the game! I couldn’t help but let a look of shock appear on my face. I won! For the first time out of the billion times I’ve went bowling with my sister, I won!
“What?” Liana asked in shock. Yeah, she’s never lost a game against me, shocking. Note the sarcasm on that.
“Yeah man, I’m just as shocked as you are.” I replied back smugly. I laughed as she glared at me.
“Oh come on Lia! It’s one game out of what? One billion?” I whined as she huffed. I swear she can be such a sour puss sometimes, but like I said before, we do get very competitive when it comes to these types of things.
“Ugh whatever, just go buy us some pizza so we can eat before our next game.” She told me before she sat down.
I just nodded before heading to the concession to get the pizza. As I walked up to the counter and saw a guy with kind of curly brown hair facing away from me.
“Um, excuse me,” I started and the guy turned around, “can I get one-” I stopped in the middle of my sentence as I noticed the boy who appeared to be around my and Lia’s age, was staring at me with a confused look. After a couple seconds, the confusion turned into realization.
“Elisia? Elisia Fallon? Is that you?” The guy questioned. Confusion crossed my face.
“Do I know you? Or have you just heard of me?” I slowly questioned back at him.
“Well yeah I’ve heard of you. But of course, I didn’t expect to see you again after so long!”
“Pardon?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. He looked down to the floor a bit embarrassed for a second.
“Its me, Danni Farris? From your grade twelve drama class?” He asked, hesitating a bit. I looked at him with wide eyes as realization crossed my face.
“Wait really? It’s been so long! Wait, what are you doing working here? At a bowling alley...in the US, weren’t you going to go to some fancy, high tech art college back in Canada?” He just chuckled and nodded his head.
“Yeah, I was, but I couldn’t get my parents to help pay for it and I didn’t get the scholarship I had applied for.”
“Oh, well, that sucks. I hope things get better for you. Anyway-” I said getting cut off by a voice. I froze before I hesitantly turned around to see an angry Lia. A hungry Lia is not a happy Lia...especially since she just lost to me for the first time in bowling.
“Elisia,” she said slowly, “what the hell is taking so long!? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t take more than 5 minutes to order food!” I hesitantly laughed before replying.
“Oh yeah...I was just about to do that.” I said as I looked back to see Danni scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
“Well, I guess we’ll order now.” I said and Liana listed off our orders.
After we got our food and were about to walk off, I felt Danni grab my wrist. I looked back at him confused before he told me he wanted to talk for a minute. I nodded my head still slightly confused and told Liana I would be there in a minute.
“So, what did you want to talk about?” I asked. He rubbed his wrists nervously before awkwardly chuckling.
“Well, I wanted to ask you out. I know it seems a little sudden, but, we haven’t seen each other in two years and I always did have a little crush on you...so will you give me a chance?” I gave him a look of slight surprise, thinking of Ashton for a slight second before I smiled softly and replied.
“Sure, I’d love to go out with you.” I said and his smile turned into a huge, happy grin. He nodded happily and smiled back at me, before motioning to Liana, who was behind me, with a not-so-happy frown.
“You should probably get going before your friend bites your head off.” he said with a light chuckle. I nodded and waved goodbye, giving him my number before I turned away from him and towards Lia.
We went back to where we were, now sitting with our food and she looked up at me and smirked. I looked at her questioningly and asked her why she was looking at me like that, she just laughed and sat silently staring at me while slowly chewing her food. I was starting to get extremely uncomfortable and the silence made it awkward which was even worse, we sat there like that for a few moments before I snapped.
“Okay, really Lia! What the hell is up with you?! Stop staring at me like that, it’s creepy!”
“So...he asked you out? And you said yes? What about Ashton?” She replied firing questions at me, and my cheeks turned a light pink.
“What about him? I mean, yeah, he’s kind of cute, but I don’t necessarily have a crush on him.” Liana just smirked and raised an eyebrow, leaning back in her chair with her arms crossed, so I continued. “And besides, even if I did, I wouldn’t expect him to like me back. I mean, I know he likes me, but just as a friend.”
“Whatever you say Ellie, whatever you say.” She shook her head and breathily laughed out after saying that, while she picked up all of her stuff and her tray. I looked at her confused as I didn’t understand why she grabbed everything.
Smiling lightly, she told me she wanted to go home. Apparently, she didn’t want to risk being beaten again. When we got back, it was about 3:30pm and the boys were there. I wasn’t really sure why, but I just let it go. Liana and I set our stuff down and greeted the boys, sitting down in the living room, where the boys were, and Lia laid back, resting her legs on my lap.
Luke and I got into a pretty heated conversation about whether Chinstrap penguins were cooler than Adélie penguins or not. We were laughing at our debate along with the rest of 5SOS, well that was until Lia decided to bring up my love life.
“Did you know Elle got asked out by an old highschool friend today?” she spoke up, not trying to hide the smirk on her face. I looked down at her with wide eyes. She had no business to go and just say that.
“Oh and she said yes.” She piped up again. Michael turned his head towards me, almost looking shocked, before wiping it off of his face and turning to Ashton.
“Well what do you think about that Ashton?” he asked. Ashton just looked at me blankly. He almost looked mad. He looked down and sighed before looking back up and answering.
“That’s great Elle. Hope you have fun.” I just nodded at him with a small smile. I’m not really sure how I feel about it. Before anything else could be said, Ashton quickly got up and walked towards the kitchen, saying he was going to go pick up some pizza. While we were waiting, Calum announced that we were going to watch a movie. I agreed, as long as it wasn’t a horror movie. It’s not that I don’t like them or have a problem with watching them, because I don’t. It’s later, when I’m going to bed that is the problem. I don’t get scared watching them, I get scared and paranoid thinking about them, and that leads to a nightmare filled sleep or no sleep at all.
Luke and Liana laughed, Luke saying that we were going to watch a sci-fi/comedy since Calum is too much of prissy little princess to watch a horror movie. Poor Calum, we pick on him too much, but then again he sets himself up for it all the time, and oh, I didn’t mean that in a mean way. He just is a goofy cheese ball. He kind of reminds me of Theodore from Alvin and the Chipmunks with his squishy cheeks. Anyways, soon enough, Ashton walked in and set the pizza down on the coffee table.
While we were waiting for him, Lia got up and sat in his spot so the only spot left was beside me. He looked down for a quick second before awkwardly sitting down beside me. The movie was started and ten minutes in we were all in a laughing fit. Though I feel like Ash was forcing it a bit. As I grabbed the last piece of pizza, mind you, that left Michael sad as he was also reaching for it, I felt my phone vibrate against my thigh. I quickly took another huge bite before setting the pizza down and wiping my hands off and picked up my phone to see a message from Danni.
Danni: hey so about that date, would Friday afternoon work? :3
