Hurry Hurry

Ashleen's POV:

  Once I had left Alex's house and was back in my car I dialed Lorenzo's number, knowing he'd be at the meeting like usual I knew I would be able to rely on him. After listening to the phone ring through my speakers, Ren's deep voice reverberated throughout my car.

  "You're late princess, what's the holdup?" Was his greeting. Straight to the point, no jokes even if he did call me princess.

  "I lost track of time, I need you to keep me on the line until I get to the house. I should be there in ten minutes at the most." I answered. I couldn't really tell him I had been on a date because then he'd be relentless with questions, So I left it out.

  "TEN MINUTES!-" he whisper-yelled, filling my car with the hiss of his anger. "Ten minutes Ash? Are you out of your mind? The meeting will have already had started by then. you needed to be here ten minutes ago." He scolded me and as I ran my hand through my hair I knew Ren was doing the same.

  A growl slipped out as I hit the highway pushing the car to the limit when I saw the road was clear. I had to make it out of the city within the next two minutes to ensure I'd make it to the house in under ten minutes.

  "The meeting is due to start any moment, your cousin and I have been trying to hold it off but the oldies aren't in the mood.-" We both simultaneously scoffed, they're never in the mood. "-Apparently, something big has come up. they haven't said anything but I can sure as hell feel it in their energies. Everyone is a bit too tense princess so push that sweet ride of yours and get over here." A muffled banging came from Ren's end, Most likely a gavel or fist, something to basically say the meeting was about to start.

  I cursed and put myself on mute while I eyed the speed-o-meter as it pushed 120 mph. I figured Ren had slipped his phone into his pocket because although I could hear everything was muffled.

  GO FASTER DAMN IT!

  AN: short update because I've been slacking, I know. I had interviews last week and actually got one of the jobs so yay. *fist pumps* Anyways, I'm gonna start on the next chapter, maybe I can have another up by midnight.
