AN; Okay, hi guys! First off I just wanted to let you know, although this isn't my first story, this is the first one I will have out for people to actually read. Not for me to sit and sulk over. Lol. I'm open to suggestions, comments, and all that jazz. Let me know your thoughts. I'll try and update regularly because I have a crap ton of short stories, one-shots and such written in my notebook already and decided to share them with all of you. With that said I hope you like this first little chapter.

"Hey, uhm.. can I borrow your phone for a minute? Mine died and I really need to call my ride." I hear from just in front of me, waking me up from my day dreaming. I blink my eyes really quick, bringing a fist up to rub at them. When I look up I'm met with a slightly flushed pretty face.

"I'm sorry to be bothering you, it's just you're the only person who I've passed in here so far." She says with a slight wrinkle coming between her brows and a darker tint coming to her cheeks. I smirk at this and grab my phone from my back pocket unlocking it and handing it over to the pretty stranger.
I lean back into the plush lounger I was previously day dreaming in, now watching the girl while she takes a few steps back putting a number into my phone. I watch her as she begins to nibble at her lower lip, making me inadvertently begin to do the same. I can hear the phone begin to ring watching as the girl begins to slightly bounce on her feet. Must be anxious. I muse as I bring my feet up under me.
"Yes!" I hear her exclaim before she quickly covers her mouth and looks up at me with an apologetic face, a giggle running between her fingers and dancing in my ears. I smirk at her again some slight fang peeping out. I watch her eyes flash down to my mouth and then back up to my eyes before she goes back to her call.
"Hey mom it's me Alex. Uhm my phone kinda died, that's why it's an unknown number." She looks back at me while I hear muffled talking coming from the other end. "This cool girl at the library is letting me borrow hers. Are you able to pick me up, I really don't feel like walking in the dark today."
I bring my eyes down to the neglected book in my lap, I've been staring at the girl for far too long. She probably thinks I'm a creep now. I internally grumble, not even actually reading, just turning the page every few moments. I try to block out the girl's light raspy voice, to give her some sense of privacy.
A few minutes later I hear steps approaching me and look up from the book I have no clue about and back into the hazel green eyes of the pretty girl whose name I now know to be Alex.
"Well that was a bust. Thanks for letting me borrow your phone. I'm Alex by the way." She says as she hands me my phone back. When I go to grab it however she holds on. I cock an eyebrow and look from her eyes to the phone and back, asking her to silently let go.
"This may sound rude," she says clearing her throat, "but can you not speak? You haven't said a single word."
My lip twitches, I can speak I just choose not to. I begin to stand, invading the girl's space as we both continue to hold onto my phone. She takes a nervous step back but that's it. I look down at my phone, twist my wrist making the phone slip from the girl's hold and slid it back into my pocket. I turn and begin to put my stuff in my bag and grabbing my keys. The girl, Alex is still stood in the same spot. I turn and look back at her, a smirk seemingly permanent on my face. I begin to walk out the library waving bye to the librarians and small smiling children who I pass on my way out. I hear her jogging behind me and shake my head, a small laugh slipping out. I hear her steps falter and a gasp slip from her lips but then she speeds up til she's right beside me. I hold the door and gesture for her to go first as I look at her giving her a wink.
"You really aren't going to speak? Now you're being rude, I heard you laugh in there. I just want to know your name!" She huffs, crossing her arms under her chest looking adorable. Eh, I guess I could tell her my name. I ponder as I smile and push against her side telling her to go since we are blocking the doorway.
"Do you need a ride?" I finally speak watching as her eyes widen and her jaw drops. I chuckle and bring a hand under her chin closing her mouth. I tilt my head and lift a brow. Well?
"You have a car? You're willing to give me a ride?" She questioned making me smile as I nodded.
"If it's not too much trouble a ride would be awesome. But you have to answer one question first." She voiced as I began to walk and she followed one step behind.
"Okay little one what's your question?" I laughed as I pressed the unlock button on my keys.
"What's your name?" Daddy, I laughed at both her obvious question and my mental answer.
"My name is Ashleen Loren Caprice, now where do you live little one?"
