Alex's Pov;
Wow, now that's a name. I watch as this quite frankly, mysterious girl eyes me up and down and lifts one perfectly groomed brow. She comes to a stop in front of an older style looking car which I notice is a Porshe. Hmm, this girl has money.
"Nice car," I say as I walk to the passenger side, admiring how clean it looks. It's a really beautiful car with its shiny black paint job and when she comes around and opens me the door, the matching leather interior. There's an expensive looking sound system and also one of those really cool race car driver steering wheels.
Once I slide inside, the girl, Ashleen, closes the door and makes her way over to the driver's side and gets in. She turns and looks at me before leaning in close, making the breath catch in my throat.
"Safety first." She whispers close to my ear as the seat belt buckles in, and then she's back in her seat. God. I try and subtlety let out the breath I was holding as she grabs her phone from her back pocket and hands it to me.
"Put in your address, please." She says as she turns the key in the ignition, bringing the car purring to life and putting her own seatbelt on. I key in my address and as the navigator's voice fills the car we're zooming out of the parking lot. Its kind of nice, the silence only briefly interrupted when the navigator tells her where to turn and such. I watch her as she drives, utterly calm and focused, shifting the gears every few moments.
"You know, Staring is considered rude. Especially to someone who so graciously offered you a ride." She says with a smile, slightly tilting her head to look my way. I know from the heat traveling the upper part of my body that I am blushing. I begin to stutter, looking like a babbling idiot, I barely manage to squeak out a small sorry. Ugh, I'm such an idiot! I Drop my head into my hands and contemplate my existence while I hear her low chuckling, making goosebumps rise up. I look up and see her holding a hand to her mouth, unsuccessfully trying to stifle her laughs, yea sure laugh at me. She takes a left turn and I see we're on my street, time sure flies when you're being a total dork.
"My house is the sixth one on the right," I tell her in a small voice, anxiously waiting for her to pull up to my house. As the car slows down to just in front of the house I turn to face Ashleen a nervous twitch in my hand that's too tightly gripping my bag.
"thank you for the ride, and for letting me borrow your phone. Uhm, bye I guess." I rush out in one breath, Ashleen looking at me the whole time with that small smirk of hers that seems to be permanently etched on her lips. I exit the car, feeling her eyes on me with every step I take. when I reach the porch I turn and see that the passenger window is down and she is still watching me. Her elbow leaning on the steering wheel, head in her hand and a big toothy grin stretching her dark lips. A small smile accompanies the seemingly permanent blush on my face. I turn back around, as I dig through my bag and grab my keys and unlock the door. I turn back one more time and give a small wave, watching as she does the same.
After I walk in, close and lock the front door do I let out the breath I feel I've been holding in forever. I go to the small window near the living room and peek out to see she is just now leaving, the sleek black car melting into the autumn night.
