The next day, after I pick up Riley from her stay at her grandmothers, I decide to head to Derek's office. And while I'm telling myself it's so he can see Riley, it's also so I can see Meredith.

I couldn't get her out of my mind.

"Do you wanna go see Daddy?" I ask Riley, as we pull into the parking lot of Derek's office building.

"Yes!" She squeals excitedly. She was a Daddy's girl, that was for sure, and while I knew she loved me too, it was plain as day that she thought the sun shined out of Derek's eyes. She adored him, and it warmed my heart.

I parked the car and stuck my keys in my purse, before getting out and unbuckling Riley from her car seat. She was still tiny for her age, a little shortie as Derek often called her affectionately, so it wasn't hard for me to scoop her up and balance her on my hip the same way I did when she was a toddler.

"Is Daddy coming home with us now?" She asks me, as we enter the building and I head for the elevator.

"No baby, he has to stay at work. Do you want to press the button?" I ask her, once the elevator is stopped in front of us. Naturally, she's excited and practically jumps to press the button for me. She loved doing things herself, and she loved helping out, she was my little helper no matter what.

"Alright baby, Daddy's in his office" I place her on the floor once the elevator has stopped, and she runs quickly to go see her father. I know he doesn't have any patients, because the waiting room is completely empty and there's no secretary at the front desk.

"Addison" Meredith startles me lightly, as I hear her voice come from behind me. She's holding files, and had more than likely just emerged from the back storage room. "Nice to see you again" she smiles, walking past me and letting herself brush lightly against me. I can't stop the breath that gets caught in my throat at having her so close.

"I wanted to apologize for last night" I cringe just thinking about it "I really should've put more clothes on or something, I had no reason for your first impression of me to be that" it was embarrassing for me to think that Meredith has seen more of my body last night than my own husband has in the last month.

She shakes her head, that signature smirk of hers gracing her thin lips. "Don't be sorry. You're a beautiful woman, Addison. You're stunning"

I stand there, in shock more than anything, as if I were frozen. My mouth is a perfect 'O', and I can't break eye contact with Meredith. My eyes won't leave hers, and the looks she's giving me as if she, well, as if she's seen me naked.

She's seen me as close to naked as I could get, without being bare. And I've just met the woman.

"Addison!" Derek smiles, interrupting our moment and snapping me out of my thoughts. "I'm happy you came by to meet Meredith! And to bring this little monkey to see me" he has Riley balanced on his hip, and he kisses her cheek after affectionately calling her 'monkey', something he's done since she was still in my tummy.

"I'm not a monkey, Daddy" Riley giggles, her blonde curls bouncing on her shoulders "I'm a little girl! I told you!"

"You're my monkey. I called you monkey when you were still in Mommy's tummy, you know" he tells her, something he's probably already said before "Ri Ri, the little monkey. That's what I wanted to call you. Mommy said no, and you got stuck with Riley" he feigns annoyance quite comically, making Riley laugh again.

When Derek's with her, I love him. He's the best Dad, he's so good with her, and it makes me remember why I married him. Moments like this, I knew what I saw in him, because he makes our little girl so happy it fills me with joy.
