Chance #1 Pt.2: Long Distance Trouble

Now Chance knew i was upset, angry, not that i was pregnant.

He wanted to fix this. But he couldn't, he would text and call hours upon end. I wouldn't answer.

I knew i had to face him when he returned. I was to scared.

"Mommy?" i hear Brooklyn ask.

"Brookie, im no-"

"Wheres dad?"

Brooklyn looks at me in silence. She lifts up her arms for me to hold her.

I pick up the small girl and she plays with my hair.

"Sweety he, will be a few more days."

"Does he not love me?"

"Honey he adores you. Your his pride and joy. You mean more than the world to him. You are his first priority. You are his everything." I tell the sweet child.

"Does he not love you?" she gets down and goes to the movies.

I think for a moment. Tears start falling slowly.

Brooklyn is such a sweet girl. No wonder everybody loves her.

"Brooklyn, i really don't think he does and i don't mean to make you upset, im not your mommy. Im just your daddy's girlfriend. Well...not anymore."

She pulls out a movie and hands it to me.

"Moana?"

"Yes. I love it."

She begs me to put it in.

Once i do she smiles real big as the title screen comes on. "Why are you sad? This is a happy movie!"

"Brookie ill be back down. I have to call somebody."

I walk upstairs and into the bathroom.

I open the cabinet and pull out the orange bottle.

I slide down on the floor and hold my head in my hands.

"Why me? Why is it always me?"

I hear the door open in the living room.

"Why are you crying Brookie? Wheres Hailey?" i hear the voice of a male, i sounds.

"Brady, Hailey sad."

I can hear her voice.

I open the pill bottle.

I take a few in my hands and get ready to collapse.

Just as i lift them to my mouth.....

"Hailey, NO!"

Chance was now in the doorway. He was leaning down his face close to mine.

"Why? Do not hurt yourself. You are better than that, youre stronger, smarter...."

Everything fades.

"Chance, I love you."
