The ODST Guard led me to the office of the Commander of the operation. She stops at the door and orders me to stay where I was before walking in. After a minute, she walks back out.

"He's waiting." She holds the door open for me as I walk into the office. The Commander stood behind his desk, and if I'm honest, he looks familiar.

A little too familiar.

The Guard stands by the door, with a hand over her Magnum. She clearly doesn't trust me, and I don't blame her.

"I'm sorry, but do we know each other?" I shift my full attention to the Commander.

"You are special Agent Washington," He says. "Former member of Project Freelancer, also known by the designation, Recovery One."

"Also known as Prisoner 619-B." The Guard smirks behind me.

The Commander gave no attention to her remark and continued. "Convicted three counts dereliction of duty, eight counts of conspiracy to commit treason, and my personal favorite, seven counts destruction of protected classified military property."

Ok, thanks for letting me know about my crimes. I definitely needed to be reminded of those. "And you are...?"

"I am someone extremely disappointed by the destruction of the said property. That is all you need to know."

So.. he's not a commander. But, he is the boss of the operation. "I want to make a deal. I have information that you want."

"All the information that I want was lost in the destruction of Project Freelancer." He dismissed.

"Not all of it."

"Agent Washington, if you knew anything that could have kept you out of prison, I am sure it would have come to light during your trial. So if you're quite through with wasting my time, will-"

I quickly interrupt him. "I know you're missing the Epsilon unit, and I know where to find it."

The Guard shifts behind me, and he looks at me in curiosity. "... You have my attention."

"It disappeared after the events of Freelancer Command," I explain. "You searched everyone associated with the program. Even the Red Team Troopers you found."

"Yes... The ones who were found bickering around the stalled jeep."

"There's another group of soldiers, a Blue squad. They escaped with Epsilon."

He looks through his records on his computer. "I show no record of these soldiers."

"And you won't," I confirmed, remembering Simmons deleting all the Blue soldiers from the data banks. "But I know where to find them. So here's the deal: I give you that missing module, you get me out of here. I get a clean slate, and we forget we ever knew each other."

I held my breath as the head thought it over. After concluding, he replies. "That sounds fair."

"I'm gonna need some equipment," I add. "Invisibility, over shields, anything leftover from Freelancer."

"I think we can point you in the right direction here."

This is it. I'm finally getting my way out of this mess. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'll figure it out once this is over. Maybe I'll-

"Agent Washington, are you listening to me?"

"Mm? Yes, I'm listening." I focus my full attention back on my new boss.

"Agent Washington, when you find these blue soldiers that you're talking about, what makes you think that they are just going to give you the Epsilon unit when you ask them for it?"

I crack a smile under my helmet. "Hehehe, for as long as I can remember, I've been lied to, taken advantage of, shot in the back, and left for dead. And now: I have a way out of all of this. What in the heck makes you think that I'm going to ask for it?"

He says nothing and looks to the Guard behind me. "Lieutenant McKenna, take him to the Armory and get him suited up. I will have some personnel deliver the necessary equipment he needs."

"Sir? You're just gonna take his word for it?" She asks in shock.

So she questions authority.. no surprise after seeing the way she acts over the past few months. From the way she is, I think she's more of a lone wolf sort of soldier than a team player...

"I am," Chairman says firmly. "And since you volunteered, you'll be accompanying Agent Washington on his mission. Dismissed."

You would think that since she is an ODST, she would fight back, but all she says is "yes sir" to the Chairman, which surprises me. She turns to look at me and orders. "Let's go, rookie."

"I'm not a rookie." I defended as I followed her out of his office.

"I'll believe it when I see it."
