It was a normal day in Camp Half-blood, a few of the Ares kids were sparring each other, a couple of Hermes kids were chasing each other around, and you were... In Cabin 7 sitting on your bed writing song lyrics.

Before too long, you heard the sound of your best friend banging on your door.

"(Y/N)! OPEN UP!" You groaned as you got up to let him in.

"Leo Valdez, at your service, songbird!" He announced, winking as you let him inside. You were so used to him hitting on you, you were barely phased by his words.

"Valdez, what do you need? I'm kinda busy at the moment. Trying to write a song, remember? I told you about that yesterday."

" I know, but I couldn't just let my best friend suffer all by themselves. So, I came to watch you suffer! Isn't that nice of me?" He inquired sarcastically

"Oh, har-de-har, Flames-for-brains! Very funny! Are you just going to sit here and bask in my anguish or did you actually come with a purpose?" You quipped back with an equal amount of sarcasm.

"Normally, I would love to just sit around and watch you work, but I actually have something to ask of you."

"That's unusual, but hey, it's a welcome change. What did you need?"

"So, you know that "secret project" I've been working on? I only have one more thing I have to finish, but it should be done within a few hours. I want to show it to you when you get done writing. I need you to come down to the beach around sunset. Do you think you can manage that?"

You looked at the sheets of paper on your bed before turning back to Leo with an answer.

"Yeah, I think I can do that. Even if I'm not done with the song, I could use a break by then."

"Great! I'll see you then, (Y/n)!" Leo gave you a hug before waving goodbye as he exited the cabin.

You took a breath once he was out of sight. It should be no surprise that you had a major crush on the son of Hephaestus. He had been around for you for as long as you could remember.

Leo was kindest friend you could ask for, and he made you giddy anytime you were around him, though you tried to never show it. You loved every aspect of his personality and looks, from his chocolate brown eyes to his curly, umber hair. To you, he was the hottest, in both meanings of the word.

Snapping out of the daze you were in, you shook your head lightly and tried to fight the blush that was creeping on to your face.

Regaining your composure, you hopped back onto your bed to continue working on your song.

-Time Skip-

A few hours had passed and it was around the time you were supposed to meet Leo at the beach. You were in your PJs for most of the day, so you decided to throw on some jeans and your Camp t-shirt before heading out to join Leo at the shore.

After a short while of walking, you got to the beach and saw Leo sitting on a log. You jogged towards him, calling his name as you did so..

He stood up before lightly jogging to meet you halfway. As you two approached one another, he greeted you before pulling a small box from his back pocket.

"Umm... Is that the secret project?"

"Yeah..." He responded.

"I know it's a little underwhelming at first, but I promise this will be worth it. But.... I need you to close your eyes first."

You turned your head slightly with a skeptical look on your face.

"Why? This isn't a prank, right Leo?"

"No, I promise. Just trust me. Please, (Y/n)..."

You gave him one last nervous look before doing as he asked. You felt something a little cold wrap around your neck before Leo spoke up.

"You can open your eyes now, (Y/n).

You opened them and looked down at what Leo had put around your neck. You lifted it up so you could get a better view, and once it got into your line of vision, you saw that it was a necklace.

It had a silver chain with a little golden sun for the pendant. The sun had a bunch of little yellow gems surrounding it.

"Oh my gods, Leo! This is beautiful! Did you make this for me?"

"Yeah, I did. It took a while to find all of the gems, but it's worth it for you."

"Leo, I - I don't know what to say except thank you... thank you so much!"

"It's no problem, (Y/n). But the necklace isn't the only reason I asked you to come to the beach with me."

"Well, what's the other reason? Don't leave me hanging."

"Ok, so I'm really nervous to ask you this because it has the possibility of breaking up our friendship, but here it goes! I have had a massive crush on you for a while now and I didn't know what else to do so, here I am with a single question... (Y/n) (L/n), would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?"

As soon as those words flowed out of his mouth, you froze in place with a dumbstruck look on your features. Leo blushed heavily before he looked down at the ground and he placed one of his hands on his neck before speaking again.

"Um, Y'know what? Forget I said anything. I'll talk to you later, songbird." He started to walk away before you reached for him and got a hold of the sleeve of his shirt.

"Wait, no! Leo, please don't leave!  I would love to be your girlfriend!"

"Are you serious?! No joke?"

"No joke! I feel the exact same way! I just didn't want to tell you because I thought you wouldn't feel the same way."

"Are you kidding?! (Y/n), I love everything about you! Your personality, your talent, everything that makes you you is my favorite thing in the world! (Y/n), I love you."

"Leo, I love you too!" You said to Leo happily before pulling him into a hug, which he gladly reciprocated.

"Can I kiss you?..." He inquired softly once you both pulled away from the embrace.

"I'd be insulted if you didn't!"  You replied with a small giggle. He chuckled lightly before he leaned in, closing the small gap between you.
