Chapter 16 : Maybe It Was For The Best

Andromeda's POV

"Would you...-" before Connor even got to finish his sentence he was interrupted by a loud banging noise, like a car door slamming shut. I turn to look to see what it was, only to come up with nothing so I turn back and look at Connor. "What were you gonna say?" I ask him, he just shakes his head. "Nothing important, we should head back to camp" he tells me, I nod my head in agreement. We hail a cab and let it take us to Camp Half-Blood.

The whole ride back I was thinking, what was he going to say?

It was 10:30 when we got back to camp, we both made it back to our cabins without being caught. Well, some one was caught having a make out session at the door way at my cabin. My brother and his girlfriend Annabeth.

I give out a short cough, but just loud enough to get their attention. They unlock themselves from each-other, blushing as they see it was me who coughed. Annabeth gets up and says a quick "goodnight" to Percy and then walks away giving me a little wave. "She seems nice" I say I walk up the steps and into the cabin,  "shut up" I hear my brother say as his footsteps follow behind mine. I sit down on one of the bunk beds I was using to sleep on and take off my shoes and throw them some where in the room, I then take my PJs that were sitting on the bed and head over to the bathroom to change.

Once I'm done getting changed I come out of the bathroom and head over to my bed. It was too hot to lay under the covers so I decided to sleep on top of them instead.

"So where were you?" I hear Percy ask me, I close my eyes and turn my head the other direction. "I went on a walk" I say, it wasn't really a lie. "With who?" he asks, "I think you mean 'with whom' and I was with Connor, and before you say anything he came along so I wouldn't get lost" I lie, I really hate lying.

"Uh huh, okay. So I won't tell Chiron you snuck out to go be with Connor" he says, I could tell he was smirking. "Alright, you do that. I'm going to sleep now" I say, and those are my last words before I begin to drift off.

*Next Day*

Walking around camp with Annabeth was pretty fun, she was telling me all sorts of facts and about how she was redesigning Olympus.  She was a cool person to hang out with, even though she kept telling me how much I looked like Percy she was still fun.

As were walking Annabeth stops suddenly, which makes me crabs into her. "why did you stop? and sorry" I ask/say. She points over to the distance where to forms were kissing on beach, just sitting there. I didn't recognize them but it looked like Annabeth did. "Who are they?" I ask her, she looks at me with a look of worry. "Connor Stoll and his girlfriend Lacey".

When those words escaped her mouth I could feel my blood start to boil, and my hands get extremely cold. Annabeth steps away from me. " His-his g-girlfriend"I say stuttering out the words, my heart breaking.

Annabeth wraps her arms around me, trying comfort me. "Maybe it was for the best, I barely knew him" I say to her as tears begin to fall down my cheeks.

Maybe it was for the best.

Sorry it's so short, I have a bit of the case of writers block.

I'm also sorry for the long wait, please don't be mad.
