"Thank you, Malfoy," he heard from behind. Potter.

"For what?"

"For helping," Harry said. " But I've got to know. Why? After all these years of hating me, why help? You knew it was me at Malfoy Manor, but you said nothing."

Malfoy sighed. "I didn't do it for you, Potter, so don't go feeling precious."

A silence fell upon them. "I did it for her."

"For who, Malfoy?" Harry wondered, thinking if it was at all possible for Draco to have a heart.

Draco looked at Harry, hesitant. "Hermione Granger."

"WHAT?" Harry yelled. "But you hate her. You always have, and you also know very well that she hates you."

"I KNOW!" Draco yells, then his voice softening. "I know."

"HARRY! HARRY!" Neville yells, running to them. "Ron, he-he-"

Harry needed no more. He ran to towards the castle in a split second. "Neville, what happened?" Draco asked.

"Ron," Neville said. "He's dead."

Harry pushed and ran through the debris and destruction, looking for Hermione or any ginger-haired people. Then, he spotted the Weasleys'. He slowly walked and looked at what everyone else looked at.

There, laid upon the ground, were Tonks, Lupin, Fred, Lavender, Severus Snape, and the last Harry expected to see. Ron. Harry had no words. He fell down on his knees and yelled in agony. "NOOOOOO!" It was as if everyone heard this desperate cry of help. Harry cried, tears running down his ashy face. He crawled toward is friend, best friend, and hugged him. The first real friend he ever made. Hagrid made his way to Harry and pulled him away from the limp less body.

"E'm serry, 'arry," Hagrid said, tears falling from his own face.

"Why, why, why," Harry uttered, breathless. Molly buried her face in Arthur Weasleys chest. Charlie and Ginny hung onto each other. Percy and Bill looked at each other, broken. George walked to his best friends body and cried. He lost his other half, his happiness, his true friend. It seemed as if winning the war came at a price. And that price was the loss of people. Loved ones. Family.

Draco made his way to the informatory, his loud footsteps echoing throughout the empty halls. He opened the informatory door to see Hermione laying on the bed. Even through all the loss and chaos, she looked beautiful. Peaceful. The only beauty left in the world. He sat down on the stool by her bed and held her hand. Tears ran down his face, knowing that he has to cherish his moments with her, because he knows she doesn't love him like he does her. He put her hand against his cheek, cherishing her soft touch. "I love you."

Then, he left.
