"All aboard!"

Hermione and Harry already found themselves an empty compartment. They sat in silence. "'Mione," He said, "will Draco join us today?"

Hermione hadn't told Harry yet. It was too hard for her to deal with. "N-no. He has some stuff he needs to deal with."

A knock came from the window, and Ginny walked in. "Hey guys," she said and gave Hermione a hug, then going to Harry and sitting down.

"I don't get a hug?" He said.

"No," she said. "You get this," she said and kissed him.

Harry smirked. "Okay then."

Hermione couldn't help but smile. She was happy to see them like that.

Hermione's POV

I woke up, slightly nauseous. I get motion sickness easily. In front of me was Ginny in Harry's arms. They were snuggled together, asleep.

I got up and exited the compartment and walked down to the bathroom when I saw him. Ron. Just a couple feet away. I didn't know if I was hallucinating or not, but right in front of me stood the one person I knew I loved. He stood there and looked at me. He smiled and held out his hand. I felt the hot tears falling down my cheeks, setting my shirt. I walked up and reached out to touch his hand. I smiled. I was so close. But right when I was just about to hold his hand, he disappeared into a pool of smoke that eventually disappeared too. "No," I whispered. "No! No! No! Come back! Come back!" I could feel the walls closing in on me. I ran down the train, trying to find any trace, even the smoke. "RON!" I ran faster and faster till I tripped on my own feet. I fell to the ground and curled up into a ball of grief and regret. I cried and cried for what felt like hours but was only minutes. And then, I saw him. Not Ron. Draco. He smiled. He seemed different from Ron. Ron was a eerie silhouette, a sort of imaginary floating person. A ghost. But Draco was real. He was alive. He didn't look could, but was warm. He held out his hand. Half of me told me to give in. The other half said not to. I didn't know what to do. Then, I got up. I took his hand, and he didn't disappear. He was still here. I smiled. He did too, and gently squeezed it. "Hermione," He said. My name echoed from his lips to me to the entire train. The world was an empty, cold void and Draco was the warmth that found me. "Hermione." It echoes over and over and over again until I opened my eyes.

"Hermione!" Ginny said. I awoke. "Mione, we're here. We're at Hogwarts."

"Right," I said, still taking deep breaths. "Okay."

When we reached the halls, I couldn't help but look at Harry. Throughout my years in Hogwarts, I've lost Ron and it was hard. But harry. During his years, he lost so much more. Lupus. Sirius. Dumbledore. Ron, too. I stood by his side, took his hand, and squeezed it. He looked at me and I gave him an assuring smile. He smiled back, and I could feel the tears forming in my eyes. Hand in hand, we entered the dining hall together. "Welcome back," Professor McGonagall said. "I hope everyone has had a good summer so far. Fortunately, we have decided to continue our studies now. It will not start until two weeks until now. Please, settle in. Now, please. Enjoy!"

The food appeared on the table and looked as delicious as always, but I was not hungry. I haven't been in a few days. I got up and wandered the halls when I got to the Gargoyle corridor. Just then, I saw Dumbledore, or rather, his picture. "Hermione, welcome back," he said.

"Dumbledore," I said.

"Something's troubling you," he stared. "No don't tell me." I thought hard. "You had a dream. Someone dear to left, but someone new came."

Hermione nodded. "Yes! How did you know?"

"I didn't," he said. Hermione smiled. "Whoever came, don't ignore them, Miss Granger. They are here to help you heal your wounds. Without them, you will be lost. They will find you. The best you can do is accept and move on."

I smiled and nodded. "Bye, Professor," I said. I continued and walked back to the dining hall. I sat down next to Harry and sat in silence. I imagined Ron in front of me. "If Ron was here," I started to say, "he'd be stuffing his face with chicken and mashed potatoes."

Ginny laughed. "He'd also ask you if you wanted to finish the rest of the food on your plate."

"Yeah, he would," Harry said. They talked more about Ron, but my eyes wandered to the Slytherin table. I found Draco staring at me. He didn't even bother looking away when he knew I knew he staring. I looked away.

Ginny and I snatched the room at the very top of Gryffindor Tower that only roomed two students. "Yay!" she said. "Okay," she said, flopping down on her bed, "rumor has it you and Draco have some things going on."

"I don't know anymore," I said. "I don't know. I can't deal with Ron appearing everywhere I go, and it's much worse that Draco's also everywhere too."

"Hermione," Ginny said. "Are you okay?"

I looked at her. "No," I finally admitted. "No, I'm not." Ginny hugged Hermione, but Hermione pushed away. "We-H-he said he loved me, and I think I do too," I said. "But Ron."

"Ron would want you to be happy," Ginny said. "He'd want you to move on. To live your life."

"But Ginny," I said. "After I left Draco, I went back for him and he was kissing Pansy!"

Ginny's eyes widened. "That bitch!"

"I-I don't know what to do."

"It's ok, Hermione," Ginny said. "I see the way Draco looks at you. It's the same way Harry looks at me."

I smiled. Maybe.
