Chapter 15:Truth

Ava's POV:

 
"What truth?" I asked and she stayed silent for a while before saying "you might not believe me because you've lived with Audrey for the greater part of your life,but the truth is the truth, no matter how bitter it is,it has to be swallowed" .
   "I'll trust you,but do not make me regret it" I said.
    "I went into your head and I saw all the lies that Audrey had told you" she said.
    "Lies?" I asked.
   "Yeah!,lies,only a few things she said is correct. The reason we left Quebec was her"
   "Her as in Aunt Audrey?" I asked.
     "Yes,her,now let me tell you everything." She said and paused,looking at me as if wanting approval to continue.
    "Alright" I said as her cue to continue.
      "Paul and Nora built Quebec,they uh wanted it to be a safe haven for their children. Unfortunately for them,children didn't come, Nora was barren. She went to the evil witch Fiona,Paul warned her that meeting Fiona would be dangerous but Nora was desperate for a child. Fiona did some uh dark magic and  Nora had children,all girls,five girls, but Nora wasn't satisfied, she went back to Fiona to give her a male child and Fiona laid a curse on our family,that we would only have a male descendant who would be our doom. Enraged about that,Nora fought with Fiona till she died and Paul, angry about his wife's death,killed Fiona but not before she hexed him. Paul slowly died after telling us everything .Then few years later,I started to see visions of our downfall,I later found out that it was a prophecy" she said and I interrupted her.
   "Prophecy?" I asked.
  
   "The prophecy spoke of the downfall of the Jenners,by family. It spoke of the messiah and destroyer working together to destroy our family, that Messiah is you Ava" Aunt Millie said with all seriousness.
  "Me?,messiah,Aunt you are wrong, look at me,a pathetic little thing,I just did real magic for the first time today." I said scoffing.

      "At the festival that wasn't you?" She asked and I nodded in denial.

     "I don't know who did it,but it wasn't me,of wasn't Aunt Audrey either,at least that's what she told me" I said.

    "Well.....,we'll find out. Now back to my story. The destroyer talked about in the prophecy is Audrey's son" Aunt was still talking when I cut her off.
  "Aunt Audrey has a son?,I thought she devoted her life to serving the ancestors?" I asked,utterly confused.
  "Audrey told you that Sonia had a son right?" Aunt Millie asked.
   "Yeah.." I said.
  "Actually that's what everyone thought. Sonia and Audrey went missing for a few years,but Audrey came back first,when Sonia came back,you were just born. She came back with a son of about six Years. The boy was pure evil but your mother pleaded that we let the child live. I started to have these scary visions of our doom again,this time it was clearer, it showed a grown up him and a grown up you fighting  together,destroying us,I didn't understand and asked the ancestors, they wanted me to kill him. I took the boy to the forest to kill him,but both Audrey and Sonia came after me,Sonia was with a weapon, it could kill any witch or mystical being and could only be activated with the blood of a demon. Audrey sacrificed a friend of ours to activate the weapon after finding out that she was a direct descendent of a very powerful demon. Your Mother was enraged because it was her best friend that was sacrificed.  It was with that weapon that I killed Sonia. It was then Audrey told us that the child is her son. Audrey refused to let me kill him. She involved the humans,killed as many as possible, wiped out families and destroyed the town. I finally killed him,or at least I thought I did kill him,the weapon went into the hands of a human,till today I don't know who he is. After everything your Mum said that family is power and that we should forgive Audrey which we did and we left,we couldn't stay in a  land where we are known as killers and where the weapon still lies. I know that Audrey still practiced black magic but I ignored it,until the ancestors revealed that to me and also that your powers are divided,a good portion of it has gone to her son, another part covered in a bowl under her bed in Quebec,and another sapped by that hairpin." Aunt Millie said and I listened with rapt attention.
  Laura who had been silent all these while then cleared her throat before speaking "Ava I'll always be with you and support you in fighting that destroyer,I and my girls will fight for you".
   " how long have I been here?" I asked.                               
  "Today makes it a week" Laura answered.
   "I'm going to Quebec,I'm going to get back my powers that's stored under her bed and I'll try to find out who the son is and where the weapon is located" I said.
   "The weapon is located near the house in Quebec, I felt it" Aunt Millie said and I was surprised. She felt it? When she left there 18 years ago?.
    "When?" I asked.
   "Last week, I went to the house" she was still saying when I interrupted her.
    "Of course, that letter was from you" I said.
   "What letter?" She asked.
   "Wait?,you didn't send that letter?" I asked.
   "I didn't send any letter, what did the letter say?" She asked.
   "You can run,but you can't hide" I said and continued "from your worst nightmare".
  " where's this letter now?" Aunt Millie asked.
   "Aunt Audrey took it" I said and Aunt Millie sighed.
  "This has gotten worse, you need to be careful, that letter is from Audrey's son, think, have you met him?" She asked.
   
    I doubt if I've met him. I don't even know how he looks like, his  name, his height, I don't even know that he exists till now.

  "I don't think so Aunt, besides I do not know him" I finally said.

   "Since your stay at Quebec, have you met any strange person?" Aunt Millie asked.

  I tried  harder to remember, but then everyone at Quebec was strange.
 
  "Everyone in Quebec are strange,the perverted Tim, the history professor at Quebec college who for some reasons thinks am evil and I saw a strange man with very large mouth and very big nose and he has eyes on his cheeks" I said and Laura looked at me Unbelievably.
  
  "Unbelievable!" Laura said and continued "I know that spell,I've seen Aunt Audrey do that before".

  Okay! That is unbelievable. The strange man was a taxi driver and I left Aunt Audrey at home.

   " The man was a taxi driver and I left Aunt Audrey at home, that couldn't be her" I said and much to my surprise,Aunt Millie nodded.

  "You're right, That definitely wasn't Audrey, that was her son" She said.
 
  "What's his name?" I asked.

  "Clayton Jenner was what your mother said we should call him. But Audrey said his name was Emilio da Vinci" Aunt Millie said.

  "He is Italian?" I asked.

  "Yeah,looks like an Italian and has nothing of ours, he is not a Jenner" Aunt Millie said.

  "He might be in the Italian coven" Laura said.

  "I visited all the covens and he wasn't there,I checked with the warlocks and he isn't with them" Aunt Millie said.

  "Italian!,reminds me of the handsome warlock,Vincent Giuseppe, he's so cool,I wish I'd see him again but it seems he's into you Ava,there was just  Lust in his eyes" Laura said blushing.

"Vincent!, the warlock?" Aunt Millie asked and I nodded.
 
  "He is a very important part of the council and very powerful too,I didn't know that you've both met him" Aunt Millie said again.

   "Ava danced with him on witch's day" Laura said and I blushed.

  "Wow!,awesome!" Aunt Millie said laughing.
  

  Soon after,I prepared to leave and took my hairpin, I put it on my hair and when Laura asked why asked  why I told her that I want Aunt Audrey to trust  me and believe that I know nothing. Aunt Millie created a portal to take me to Quebec and I bid the both of them goodbye as I immediately arrived at Quebec,in front of the house. I stood there for a while before going  inside.
