Sitting in my golden wood, I was surrounded by an arrangement of orange, yellow, and red, crisp leaves. My birch, reading stump standing in the broad clearing as always. While reading a book that i had found interesting at the local library, I was fascinated by a flash of black in the dense underbrush out of the corner of my eye. Making a mental note of my page, I set my book down, so I could focus fully on my surroundings. Creeping in the distance was a large, black wolf staring at me with his yellow eyes, with the same amazement my eyes were equally staring back. I knew there were wolves in this area, but I never knew they were this close. In the blink of an eye, my wolf was already gone. I stood there for a good minute, just fixated on the spot where my wolf had stood. Finally grabbing my book and walking back through the woods to my house, back to my old life, away from me, away from my wolf.
