Music.
It's what keeps me going through the day, what keeps me sane.
Music.
It's not just sound. It's not just instruments. It's not just voice.
Music.
It's everything we do. It's all around us. The silence is music.
Music.
It's emotional. It tells a powerful story that someone was brave enough to share with you, so you'd better feel special.
Music is something greater than what we all think and know. It's heart, it's soul, it's crying silently in the dark a 4am, it's bobbing your head to the beat, it's sipping your tea and staring at the view, it's the busy streets, it's someone's overwhelming desire.
Music is an escape, it doesn't matter what your favourite type is, it's just the fact that it's YOUR favourite and it might be your classmates' favourite, it might be your second cousins or sister in laws' or your fathers' favourite.
Music and bring us together.
It can rip us apart.
It can swell up and boil over.
It can put out the fire. Or it can start it.I want, need, people to understand how important it is, to me, to others.
And you might be on the other side of the goddamn world but, hey, we might have something in common.
I encourage you all, if you don't already, to learn an instrument and make some music. To listen to it through headphones or quietly from your phone or even through a speaker at a party. Go and do it.
