Chapter 19:
Caleb's POV:
The boys waited for her at the airport while I helped her. She had to take her time walking and we had issues with the metal detectors. When we got on the plane the boys were clapping for her return and she smiled.
"So what's the situation?" Lupul asked smirking.
"I cracked a vertebrae." She said.
"Ouch."
"Oww."
"Shit." Was erupted throughout the team.
"How long are you out for?" JVR asked.
"Two weeks. So at least the rest of pre-season. As long as I stay on top of the strengthening medication and rest a lot. I will be ready for the first official game of the season." She beamed.
"Alright, old lady. Don't break your hip next." Kessel chuckled causing everyone to laugh. She smiled and sat down and leaned the chair back.
"Do you need a pillow?" I asked. She nodded and I slid one under the metal bars and her head. I took out her pain medicine and gave some to her. She took it and soon went to sleep. The stuff knocked her out.
We hooked up the Xbox and a couple of us played COD while the others napped, read, listened to music, watched tv or played PSP. Yes we played a lot of video games. I was playing against Kessel, Rielly and Bozak.
"Riells, prepare to get your ass handed to you." I taunted.
"Please, I will wipe the floor with you and Phil." Kessel scoffed and frowned.
"Rielly you are still a rookie. You both are, so you can't beat us veterans." he said.
"Yea. It's just not...Possible!" Bozak said getting the game winning kill on Rielly. I laughed and ate some of the junk food we had.
"So what's going on with you and Ms. Juliet?" Phil asked as we started a new game.
"Taking it one day at a time, Hobo." I called him hobo because he dressed like he was homeless.
"Sure, sure. But if you start making out in the dressing room. I will kick your ass." He warned.
"Yea, yea. Just focus on the game because I'm owning your ass." I said killing him.
Once we touched down I ordered a taxi home and I brought up all the bags as Juliet hobbled down the hallway. She laid on the couch and passed out again. The phone rang and I quickly answered it.
"Hello?" I whispered.
"Oh, Caleb! How is she?" Juliet's mother asked worriedly.
"The doctor said she will make a full recovery in three weeks tops. She had a concussion, whip lash and a cracked vertebrae." She gasped as I said it.
"Where is she? Can I talk to her?" She asked.
"Her pain medication knocks her out. I can tell her to call you when she wakes up?" I offered.
"Yes, yes of course. Thank you Caleb."
"No problem." I said hanging up. Tidus went up on the couch and cuddled in next to her and whined. Clarabelle sat down next to her and stared sadly.
"I know...She will be okay." I whispered petting them. I went and got into the shower and changed into more comfortable clothes. I was tired from flying so I was most likely going to order in.
As I went to dial, Juliet whimpered on the couch.
"Jules? You alright?" I asked walking over as tears rolled down her face and she squirmed.
"I'm in so much pain." She cried.
"I know, Jules...I know." I said getting her pain medication. I quickly gave it to her and she was calming down in about two minutes.
"Atta girl." I said pushing away her hair.
