Lapis' POV: First Person

After Peridot and I left that cramped bathroom, smiling, we ran into an inquiring Jasper and a smirking Garnet. We explained - or, Peridot explained; I stood there blushing - that she fell asleep, and had no idea that I was in the bathroom. Neither Jasper nor Garnet seemed to believe it, but it was worth a try.

We found both Pearl and Amethyst passed out on the couch together. Pearl had her arm over Amethyst, spooning her. I glanced at Peridot to see her reaction, but she was instead talking with Garnet on whether they should keep them there or move them back to their designated rooms.

"Naw, leave 'em there," Jasper smirked. "They'll wake up all embarrassed 'n shit."

Garnet and Peridot glanced at each other and nodded. "It'd be hard to move them anyways without waking them up," Garnet agreed.

And so it was settled. My legs were getting tired from standing altogether, so I sat back down on the love seat Peridot and Pearl had been in earlier. After talking a bit more with Peridot, Garnet helped a wobbling Jasper into bed.

I listened to Jasper's heavy footsteps disappear. I felt tired, but my eyes wouldn't close. I looked up at Peridot, who was looking at me.

She walked over and sat next to me. "Guess we have our rooms to ourselves, huh?" she observed, smiling. I frowned and shook my head.

"I can't believe Pearl was literally just flirting with you and now she's cuddled up next to Amethyst," I scoffed.

Peridot frowned and shrugged. "Well, you gotta give her the fact that she was drunk," Peridot defended her. "Plus, she was complaining about you and Amethyst the whole night. I don't think I was her first option."

I blanked. That would make sense, but that doesn't really excuse her behavior.

"Anyways," Peridot drawled, "I'ma head to bed," she said, jutting her thumb towards the first door on the left. I nodded slowly.

"Mkay, well..." I said, disappointed, "goodnight, I guess."

Peridot nodded but didn't move. We sat in awkward silence before Peridot said, "You wanna, uh, sleep in our room tonight? Since, y'know, Amethyst isn't." Peridot's face was beet red, and I could tell she was scared of me rejecting her offer.

My face turned red at the thought of sleeping with Peridot. My mind wandered off... No! Stop, Lapis, all you guys did was kiss! She doesn't want your dirty thoughts!

"Uh, yeah! That'd be cool," I responded. Cool? What the hell, Lapis. "Just, lemme, uh, get some stuff from the other room real quick."

Peridot nodded. She put up her hands and turned them into finger guns. "Okie... Dokie?"

Both of our eyes widened. I blinked, then snort-laughed. Peridot covered her face and mumbled something into her arm.

"Oh, my, god," I said between wheezes and snorts. "Peridot, as smooth as sandpaper."

Peridot took her red face out of her arm. "Shut. up."

"You really know how to entrance a girl, don't you?" I teased, leaning forward.

Peridot put her arm down from her face, smirking. "Considering you're a girl, then yes."

I fake frowned. "Are you assuming that I'm a girl?" Peridot's face blanked. I smiled, punching her in the arm. "I'm just kidding!" I snorted. "You really thought, huh?"

The blonde rolled her eyes. "You'd have the same reaction."

Shrugging, I stood up off the chair and went to get a couple of things from my room. I slid on a hoodie that said "water witch" on it, along with grabbing my phone, earbuds, a charger, and chapstick.
