In a distant part of Hydro where not many people dared to go a young woman with piercing red eyes and black hair was walking through its streets. This area was known for being a place ridden by crime and violence to its inhabitants but living here for so long now it did bother the woman. She walked into a building where the door had been broken from its hinges and up the concrete stairs. The walls of the stairwell were covered with graffiti and a red substance that looked like blood. She didn't pay much attention to this at all and went straight to the top floor she had business to attend to.
At the top of the stairs there was one long corridor with a room at the end of it, not even hesitating she walked to it and knocked. "Enter!" was called out by a man.
She opened the door and then closed it behind herself just as the man in a chair look at her and smiled, he had blonde hair and brown eyes, "Ah Eva it's good to see you"
Eva remained silent and stood waiting for his orders.
"I'm surprised you escaped, really I thought that last job would have been it for you but here you are" he beamed.
"It's going to take more than that to kill me off you should know that by now Kaz" Eva replied as she folded her arms, but her right hand hit the black wrist band on her left arm, "I mean if I had this off it would be even harder for me to be taken down" The band on her wrist prevented her to use her powers that she had, Kaz had seen that as a threat when he took her on.
Kaz laughed, "You see that's why I've always liked you Eva you have a sense of humour and I appreciate that"
She raised her left eyebrow, "A sense of humour huh?"
"Well now you say it like that I am wrong but still you amuse me" he laughed.
Rolling her eyes Eva changed subject, "I was told you wanted to speak to me, what is it?"
Kaz lent back in his chair and thought for a while, "Oh right yes there was a reason I called you up here"
She carried on looking at Kaz waiting for him to continue and explain why she had been called up here.
"I've been told by several contacts that back in the northern town a woman with the Gene, Ashley River I think, is working with Josh in the Abbey and you know what that means" Kaz told her.
Eva hadn't heard Ashley's name for 10 years and it brought back good memories yet painful ones. "What do you want me to do about that?" she asked.
"Scout out the area, see if there's any more Gene freaks about and if they are going to be an issue for us"
"You know I didn't appreciate you calling us freaks" Eva frowned at him unimpressed.
"Just remember who has that key to that band on your arm" he smirked, "I do so don't you get all aggressive towards me, I essentially saved you"
Eva looked away from him and didn't say anymore.
Kaz smiled, "the job is simple but can you handle it Miss Winter?"
She looked at him and courage flashed through her red eyes and she nodded her head, "I'll leave straight away" she told him.
"Good" Kaz smirked as Eva turned to leave, "Oh Eva just a reminder" he called to her. She turned and looked at him before he continued, "If anyone causes you trouble you know what you need to do"
Again Eva nodded her head and left his office. Walking quickly she went down the stair and back out into the dodgy town, everyone knew that building belonged to Kaz and his gang. Everyone also knew Eva here and they made sure to keep their distance from the woman as she had strict orders to follow.
