Imprisoned

Chapter 11

Ashley had remained sat by the door watching the young boy having a nap on her bed when she sensed something. It was a strange feeling and she leapt to her feet and looked around. The kid also woke up and looked at Ashley confused.

"Get up" she ordered him.

Doing exactly what she said he got to his feet, she had a very different vibe about her now and he felt he couldn't push her. She walked over to him and grabbed his shoulder, he struggled slightly but her finger tips dug in and hurt so he stopped.

"You're coming with me got it?" she asked him angrily.

"Yes" he agreed.

"And you aren't going to try and run or I will kill you"

"I've already agreed to that once today" he sighed.

"Say you aren't going to run!" she shouted.

"Fine I won't run away from you" he agreed rolling his eyes slightly.

Teleporting out of her room Ashley ended up in the street outside of the Abbey. Down the road she saw Leto, Eva and Kane all stood looking back at her. Her red hair blew in the wind and an evil smile spread across her face and she kept a firm hold of the child.

"Ashley let the child go!" Eva shouted.

"Oh you think I should?" Ashley tilted her head, "Well that's unfortunate coz I'm not giving him up yet"

Before anyone could shout anything else Ashley teleported away from them with the boy. Anger flash through Kane's eyes, he wanted his son back in his arms safe and unharmed.

"We've got to go after her" Eva told the men.

Both men looked at each other, now Eva knew there was a child she appeared more urgent to get to Ashley.

"First we need to figure out where she's gone" Leto sighed. Even in that brief interaction they had had with Ashley it hurt him to see how much different she was. Even though he believed Kane he found it hard to believe that she would kidnap a child and that just proved how far she had fallen.

Kane thought for a while before saying, "I think I might have an idea of where she is"

"Really?" Eva asked.

"Where?" Leto asked.

"She often disappeared off to different places and Josh would send me to go and bring her back, and one place she always went was this large forest" Kane told them as he thought about it.

"We should go there then" Eva replied.

"If she's there then we'll try and keep her from running" Leto said, "The more she runs the more likely she will be getting braver and more daring, with Kane's kid at risk we can't let that happen"

"I'll take you both there" Kane said as he put one hand on Leto and the other on Eva.

Arriving in the forest everything was deathly silent as they looked around. The trees hung in a way which made them look like daggers were falling from the sky. Unintentionally the trio moved so their backs were against each other as they looked around for Ashley. Each of them were ready to fight if things took a bad turn or they were sneaked up on.

When they heard a twig break all of them threw their heads in the direction of the noise. None of them saw anything to be worried about but Kane edged in the direction. Seeing him leave the group the other two looked at each other and followed him. They walked together a fair way until the forest thinned and a vast field became visible. Each one of them pushed their way through the branches of the hedges that surrounded the open field. Then there stood in the middle of the field was Ashley and Kane's son.
