Imprisoned

Chapter 9

*Several days later*

Ashley still hadn't been able to find Leto or Eva but she had had an enormous success with breaking Kane. She had been talking so much about him working with Leto that he accidentally let slip a piece of evidence that proved it to be true. Finally she broke off the team work idea and did something she couldn't believe she could bring herself to do. She had teleported to Kane's home, knocked out his wife and kidnapped his eldest son. The young woman then teleported away from the town so she could keep his son there as blackmail.

The two were walking down a dirt road in silence when the young boy look up at Ashley and asked, "Why haven't you asked me my name?"

"Because I don't care" she snapped.

"Where are we going?" he asked curiously.

"Doesn't concern you"

The boy fell silent and yawned loudly.

Ashley frowned at him, "No absolutely not" she told him.

"What?"

"We are not stopping to rest we don't have time for that"

"I never asked if we could" he told her back.

"Didn't your parents ever tell you answering back to an adult to be rude?" Ashley growled.

"Did your parents ever tell you kidnapping a child is wrong?"

Ashley could feel herself beginning to lose it with this kid but she had to keep her anger under control. If she lashed out then the kid was going to be less likely to cooperate with her further down the line.

The boy then said, "You know Dad will come and kick your butt"

Ashley turned to him and shouted back "No, he'll come and I'll kick his butt!"

"You wish Lady" the boy smiled, he had realised how easy Ashley was to anger. But he also knew she wasn't going to hurt him as she needed him so he was just going to push it a bit.

"Don't call me Lady" she warned him.

"Then what should I call you?"

"You don't need to call me anything" she told him as she turned to looked down the road.

"Fine" he sighed, "This road trip sucks..."

Finally snapping she turned to him, "You aren't supposed to be enjoying this!"

"You're just mean!"

"Don't you start yelling at me!"

"Then you stop yelling at me!"

"Ah you're so annoying!"

"You're the crazy one around here!"

"Will you stop yelling?!"

"No!"

Ashley then created a ball of light energy in her hand, "I shall blow your tiny brain out with this of you carry on screaming!"

"No you won't!"

"Yes I will, now stop yelling!"

"No!"

"Ah how can I get you to shut up?!"

"Listen to me!"

"I've been listening to you this whole bloody time and it's driving me crazy!"

"I want to rest and a snack"

"What?" Ashley asked flustered and confused.

"I want to sit down and have a snack" he told her again.
