The next morning I go downstairs and find everyone eating breakfast, "Morning guys," I say, sitting at my spot at the long table.
I get a chorus of responses but Tim ignores me. He simply gets up and turns to Bruce, "I'll be in my room if you need me," he says then leaves the room.
"He's still mad at me for yesterday, isn't he," I say miserably.
Dick looks at me, "I don't think so but maybe you should talk to him yourself."
I nod and start to get up but Alfred stops me, "Breakfast first young lady."
I laugh, "Alright Alfred." I eat quickly and race upstairs. I pause at Tim's door and take a deep breath. "Tim? It's Emily. Can I talk to you?" I ask, knocking on the door.
He opens the door, "What do you need, Emily?"
"May I please come in? I need to talk to you," I say. I can't meet his eyes so I just stare at my shoes.
He sighs and lets me in. Shutting the door, he turns to me, "So what's up?"
I take a deep breath, "Tim, I want to apologize for my actions yesterday. You don't know the extent of what happened to me before Bruce adopted me. I shouldn't have let my emotions get the better of me. So what I'm trying to say is, I'm sorry, Tim."
Tim stares at me for a moment then tackles me in a hug, "I'm sorry too, Em. I should have realized the effect your parents' abuse had on you."
I hug him back, "It's alright. I forgive you." I pull away from the hug and look into his gray eyes, "You forgive me too right?"
He grins, "Of course!"
I sigh in relief, "Thanks, Tim."
A knock at the door makes us both jump, "Yes?" asks Tim.
"I do apologize Young Master Drake, but Master Bruce requests your and Mistress Emily's presence in the basement," Alfred says.
"Thank you, Alfred," Tim replies.
"Basement?" I ask.
Tim smirks, "That's our code word for the Batcave," he explains.
"Oh," I say, "I guess I'll see you downstairs then." I walk towards the door morphing into my uniform as I go.
Tim grabs my wrist, "Where are you going?"
"Umm, the Batcave entrance in the hall?" I state, confused.
Tim sighs and pulls me towards his closet, "Don't bother every bedroom has a Batcave entrance. We'll just use mine." He opens a hidden door in the back of his closet to reveal a ladder.
"Oh," I mumble. Then I glance behind me and see Tim grabbing his uniform. Flicking my wrist I change his outfit instantly. "Come on, we shouldn't keep him waiting," I say then dive down the chute. I land at the bottom and walk towards Bruce who is waiting by the Batcomputer.
Tim lands with a thud behind me and jogs to catch up, "We're here Batman."
Bruce turns to us, "Zeta to Mount Justice."
"Is there a mission?" Tim asks.
"Nightwing will give the details," Bruce replied.
I dash for the Zeta and punch in the coordinates, "Come on Red!" I call over my shoulder.
Tim jogs to my side and we're both swallowed by the yellow energy. When we emerge we see the team gathered for briefing. Nightwing smirks as we jog up, "Glad you two could join us."
I cross my arms over my chest, "Whatever Nightwing, we didn't know there was a mission."
Nightwing shakes his head and returns to the briefing, "Joker has escaped Arkham Asylum and has shown almost no activity. Our task is to find out where he's hiding and what he's planning. I'm splitting us into three teams. Alpha squad will consist of Batgirl, Superboy and myself. Beta squad will be led by Red Robin and consist of him, Eagle, and Blue Beetle. Gamma squad will be led by Miss Martian. Wondergirl, Lagoon Boy and Beast Boy, you're with her,"
