Chapter 8: Truth Told

The next morning Tim and I meet in the hallway outside our rooms, "Tim, I've decided to tell our family here first before telling the team." I say quietly.

Tim nods, "Good idea. That way Dick can back us up when we tell the team."

"I also found out last night that I can do that spell Thunder and Spirit used," I add.

Tim stares at me, "Seriously?"

I nod, "Yeah I got curious yesterday and started to attempt the spell on myself in my room last night. I think it will be easier to explain if I show them."

"Yeah, it probably will." Tim agrees.

"Hey! Are you two coming down for breakfast or what?!" Damian shouts from downstairs.

I peer over the railing at him and snicker, "We're coming, devil child! Also, nice bed head!"

He glares at me then storms back to the dining room. I turn back to Tim, "We should get going before he sends Dick after us."

Tim nods and we both dash downstairs. When we reach the dining room everyone looks up at us. "Good morning." Bruce says, "Tim with everything going on yesterday I didn't get the chance to ask you, why did you attack Damien night before last?"

"Uh..." Tim stalls glancing at me.

I step up next to Tim, "We'll explain that in a moment. There's actually something I need to tell you."

"What's that?" Dick asks.

I take a deep breath, "I'm not from Earth." I say.

Everyone stares at me, "So you finally found out." Bruce says.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"I had Miss Martian read your mind when Dick first introduced you to the team," he explains, "She found your memories of leaving and told me about them."

I sigh, "Alright I don't understand how she can see memories I have forgotten but I'm not going to ask. For the rest of you, it's easier if I show you what I'm talking about." I close my eyes and focus. Opening them I cast the spell and show them the same scene that Tim and I had seen the day before.

"What was that, Haze?" demands Damien.

"First, never call me that, I despise that name. And second, it's the day my guardians, Thunder and Spirit took me from my homeworld and brought me to Earth." I explain.

"You called them Thunder and Spirit but in that vision, they were called Andromeda and Cepheus, and you were called Aquila, why is that?" asks Dick.

"Those were our Avian names," I reply, "The Haze's decided to name me Emily when I was left there. Andromeda and Cepheus changed their names by choice when the arrived here."

"Where are they now?" Dick asks.

"My friend Mia is caring for them on her ranch," I explain, "They can hide as regular horses so her clients won't find out."

"She knows?" Bruce asks.

I nod, "Yes and she is also aware that I am Eagle. My other friends Evelyn, Skylar, and Victoria are also aware that I am Eagle. I have yet to inform the rest of my friends about Spirit and Thunder."

Bruce nods, "Alright. That leaves me with two questions. One, do they know about the rest of us? And two, why was Tim fighting Damien the other night?"

I glance at Tim. He nods, "Go ahead." he mouths.

I look back at the others, "No, my friends do not know about the rest of you, nor do I intend to tell them. And Tim went after Damien because he was eavesdropping on a private conversation."
