Chapter 3 My First Day

The rest of the team looks up as Dick and I exit the Zeta-tube, "Everyone this is Eagle," Dick introduces.

"Hi," I say with a wave.

A girl with green skin and red hair flies over, "Hi! I'm Miss Martian but you can call me M'gann. That's Conner or Superboy. Then there's Kalder or Aqualad, Beast Boy or Garfield, Blue Beetle or Jaime Reyes, Wonder Girl or Cassie, Lagoon Boy or Lagan and Batgirl." She points to each member as she says their name, "You'll meet the rest later."

"M'gann slow down you don't want to overwhelm her," said Batgirl.

"Yeah, we kinda want her to feel the aster," agreed Nightwing.

Everyone laughs at his play on words. Then I glance next to me and see a large, dark-green grizzly bear, "Whoa," I exclaim taking flight! I reach the ceiling and look down. Beast Boy now stands where the bear was and he's laughing his head off. Realizing he'd just pranked me I dive back down to the floor. Landing in front of him aglow with power while I glare at him. He gulps and looks terrified. I start laughing as I watch his expression change. "Oh my gosh, your face," I wheeze, doubling over.

"You're not mad?" he asks.

I straighten up and shake my head, "No way, if fact, I love playing pranks and scaring people."

He grins, "Noted."

"Ugh, great, now we have two pranksters to keep an eye on," muttered Superboy.

I notice the way he's learning on the wall. Smirking I flick my wrist slightly. It causes his foot to slip causing him to fall over. He clambers back up. "Are you okay?" I ask.

"Why do you care!? You caused it!" he yells!

I take a step back, "It was just a prank..." I start but realize that Superboy won't listen. I turn to Dick, "Thank you for introducing me to the team, Nightwing, but I just remembered I forgot to take care of something back home. I'll see you later." Not looking at anyone I run for the Zeta-tube and warp back to the Batcave. Emerging from the Zeta-tube, I race past Damien and Jason, who are sparring, and run to the chute that leads to the upstairs hallway. I climb up and then run to my room slamming the door. I dive onto my bed and start crying. 'Why? Why was I so stupid?!' I think to myself. I lay there for several hours. Then I hear my phone buzzing. I grab it and open the message. I read it quickly then drop my phone on my bed running for my desk next to the window. I scribble a note to Bruce and the others then I open window. As I streak towards Aria the message replays in my head.

From: Skylar

Come quick Evelyn is missing!

'Don't worry girls I'm coming and I swear I'll get Evelyn back,' I think as I fly as fast as I can towards Aria. I circle over my old neighborhood until I see my friends trying to get my attention.

"What's going on," I ask landing in front of them?

"Evelyn's missing," Mia says worriedly.

"Don't worry I'll find her. Do you have any idea where they took her?" I ask.

"The van they were driving headed into the warehouse district," said Victoria.

"Got it," I growl and take off again. I fly over the warehouse district and use my powers to scan for Evelyn. I sense her and several others in Warehouse 10 so I head in that direction. Slipping in through one of the warehouse's several broken windows. Landing on a rafter I look down. Evelyn and my other friends are standing there talking to my team, "What the heck," I yell and jump down landing on a crate next to them, "Are you telling me this was all a setup!?"
