We emerge into a huge cavern. "Whoa," I breath in awe, "This place is huge!"
I turn to Kaldur and Tim. Tim takes out his rebreather and quickly switches the goggles back to his sunglasses as he glares at me, "If you ever try to do that again so help me—"
I cut him off, "It's okay, Red, it was just a joke. Oh and by the way, your hair looks super cool when it's underwater. The current makes it move around and that just makes you look that much cooler."
Tim's face tints slightly pink at my compliment and before he can respond I turn to Kaldur, "So, why'd you want to show us this?"
"I feel it would have been unwise for me to search this place be myself. My first instinct was to ask Lagann, but I decided against it as he has been quite busy lately with his training. When I saw the two of you at the beach today I decided to ask the two of you," Kaldur explains, "Eagle's prank just gave me a reason to bring you here sooner."
I glance around the cavern, "This place... This place feels weird."
The other two look at me. "What do you mean?" Tim asks.
I look at him, "You don't feel it? There's something else at work here. It's source is somewhere in that direction." I point down on of the tunnels.
"Should we look into it?" Kaldur asks.
I don't respond. I stare down the hallway the magic is coming from. I spot a ghostly blue figure a ways into the tunnel. It appears to be beckoning me to follow it. "Eagle!" Tim yells and grabs my arm.
I jolt to a stop. "W-Wha—?" I start then notice I'd been walking towards the hallway and trail off.
"Are you alright? You were in a sort of trance," Kaldur watches me with concern.
I... I saw something," I murmur, placing a hand on my forehead and rub it, trying to process what had just happened as I stare down the hallway again.
"Saw something? Is something down there?" Tim asks.
Before I can respond I'm blinded by a flash of bright blue light. I shield my face with my hands as the light forces a collage of images into my mind. When the light fades I stare at the boys, "Did either of you just see that?"
"See what? You getting hit by a beam of blue energy from that tunnel? Cause that's all I saw," Tim replies.
"I saw images... no... they were memories," I whisper, "All from the perspective of an Avian male about my age. I think I wasn't the only one to escape Avion."
"You weren't." I stiffen as a voice whispers in my mind. It sounded like it was coming from underwater. "There was another. She commands us five elementals: Water, fire, earth, wind, and lightning. As we entered you solar system, our bond was weakened. She was forced to land on this planet's moon and all but one of us elements fell to Earth. Please free me so that I may find them and save my leader."
Without thinking I sprint down the hallway from which the voice came. "Eagle wait!" Tim shouds. I then hear pounding footsteps as he and Kaldur race after me.
I don't stop until I reach a fork in the path. "If you're there, guide me," I whisper. The glowing blue figure appears in the rightmost path.
Before I can run off again, however, someone grabs my arm. "Eagle, wait," Kaldur orders.
I pull away. "Why?" I demand.
"We'll get lost!" Tim exclaims.
"I'll guide you out once I'm free," the voice assures me.
