Baby Raphie

Part 5

They set it all up and went back to the living room, by this time it was getting dark outside (8pm). Raph was awake and sucking on his fingers with the teddy in one arm and the blanket kind of on him. When Raph saw everyone, he kicked his legs and smiled and made some noises, which everyone thought to be a happy greeting.

April reached in and picked him up and took his fingers out of his mouth. When she picked him up, he left his blanket and teddy.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa" (Raph)

Raph starts crying and April tried rocking him but that didn't work.

"Casey, grab a binky from the changing table in the bedroom !" (April)

Casey ran into Leo's room and came back with the binky and put it in baby Raph's mouth.

Baby Raph took the binky out of his mouth and threw it at Mikey.

"Ow ! Even as a baby he's still mean to me !" (Mikey)

"Fuzzy ! Fuzzy !" (Raph)

"Fuzzy ?" (Leo)

"Fuzzy !" (April)

April reaches down into the playpen and get the blanket she gave the baby before in the lab and hands it to him.

He immediately stops crying as he snuggles his face into the blanket.

"Awww" (April)

Then Raph wants down so April puts him down and Leo and Mikey sit on the floor with April and they surround Raph with their feet so he can't get away, and Casey on the couch in cae he did. What the three teens on the floor didn't know, was that Casey Jones was fast asleep. Leo, Mikey and April got so focused on tv, that Raph saw his opportunity to escape. He runs onto the couch next to Casey and over the back and ran into the dojo with his blankie flying behind him like a cape almost.

He sees Splinter, who is in a deep meditative trans, and runs over to him. Raph climbs into Splinter's lap and startles him out of his trans.

Raph snuggles with his blankie and just hangs out with him for a moment till he heard a comment out of his father's mouth which makes him look up at Splinter.

"Hello young Raphael, what are you doing in here ? Did your brothers and friends fall asleep ?" (Splinter)

"No." (Raph)

"Well then, let us go and see then." (Splinter)

Splinter picks up Raph and carries him out of the dojo with his blankie still in his tiny baby hands.

Splinter walks into the living room area and Leo, Mikey and April are still watching tv and Casey is sleeping. Splinter watches them for a moment when he figures he ought to give them some advise.

"I hope, for all of you, to have children of your own some day. And when you do, you KEEP AN EYE ON THEM !" (Splinter)

"What do you mean sens-oh." (Mikey)

"Where did you go Raph ?" (Leo)

The four teens walked over to Splinter who still had Raph in his arms and put him down on the floor and Raph wobbled and fell on his butt.

"Oops" (April)

Mikey leans down and picks Raph up and he giggles at Mikey.

We'll keep a better eye on him sensei." (Leo)

"Yes, I hope you will. But for now, it is Patrol time."

The teens looked at each other and didn't realize that it was already dark outside.

So they grabbed Donnie and got the baby harness and the baby bag that April and Casey got at the baby store and the five teens made a deal to each take an hour to carry Raph in the harness. They also agreed, that whoever carried Raph had to wear the diaper bag on their back.

So they started with the oldest. They strapped Leo down in the harness and put Raph in it facing away from him since they thought Raph would want to see the sights.
