Baby Raphie

Part 8

April walks to Donnie's room and sees Donnie holding Raph to his plastron trying to hush him but it wasn't working.

"I'll take him D." (April)

April picks Raph up and takes him out after watching to make sure Donnie went back to sleep.

April was in the hallway with Raph shushing him as he started to calm down.

"You're a handful aren't you." (April)

Raph starts screaming again and April doesn't know what to do. She walks into Leo's room and changes his diaper, which didn't really need it, then gave him his binky and that didn't work.

So she did something her dad said he's done for her at this age.

She put her three fingers in his mouth and he stops crying and starts gnawing on her fingers with his gums.

"You're teething." (April)

April walks into the living room where Leo and Mikey were hanging out and watching tv. She walks up behind Leo with Raph still gnawing in her fingers.

"Hey Leo, what do I feel him ?" (April)

"Oh, i just sent Casey to the store to get baby food." (Leo)

"Ok. Raph's teething so he's a bit whiny." (April)

"Raph's always whiny." (Mikey)

Mikey's comment earned a smack from Leo.

"Mikey ! Apologize ! Now." (Leo)

"Sorry Raph. But Leo, he's a baby, why do I have to apologize ?" (Mikey)

Then Raph takes April's fingers out of his mouth and reaches out for Mikey with both arms and a smile on his face.

"I think he wants you Mikey." (April)

"Uh, ok ?" (Mikey)

Mikey reaches out and takes Raph from April's arms and he stops crying and cuddles into Mikey's plastron and

After a minute Raph pulls Mikey's finger into his mouth and starts teething on them.

"He's soooo cute. Do we have to change him back ? Ow !!" (Mikey)

"What happened ?!" (Leo)

"HE BIT ME !!" (Mikey)

"Haha, you deserved that !" (Casey)

Then Casey walks in the turnstiles with a plastic bag full to the top and hands it to Leo.

Leo opens it and pulls out a bunch of baby food.

"Alright, what do we give him ?" (Mikey)

"He only eats fruit baby food, or at least that's what Master Splinter said." (Leo)

"So, how about pears ?" (April)

In Mikey's lap, having Mikey already yanked his finger out of Raph's mouth after being bitten, Raph stars clapping his small hands and smiling and giggling.

"I think this is the only time I've ever seen Raph actually giggle." (Casey)

Casey starts laughing and Raph starts crying.

"Casey, go get a baby spoon from the kitchen drawer." (April)

Raph then reaches his arms out with, sincere, tears in his green eyes and Leo's heart melts as he sees his baby brother reaching for him truly upset.

Leo reaches out to meet the baby hands and picks Raph up out of Mikey's arms and cradles Raph to his plastron and Raph wraps his small fingers around the edge of Leo's plastron and his face goes neutral.

Then Leo hears Raph's stomach growl loudly and Casey comes back in with a red rubber spoon and hands it to April along with some pear baby food that's been opened.

Leo sits Raph upright and April puts the spoon to Raph's lips and he won't eat it.

"Come on Raph, it's yum yums." (April)

"Maybe Master Splinter can help us out." (Leo)

Leo turns to the dojo and misses that Raph has taken the jar or pear baby food from April's hands into his own.

"Uh, Leo...don't move." (April)

"Wh - oooooh ! Raphie, can I hold this ?" (Leo)

Leo tried to take the lead food from his baby brother but can't as Raph moves it around in circles away from him.

Soon Leo stops trying and watches to see what Raph will do with it.

Surprising everyone, Raph hands the baby food out to Casey.

Casey takes the baby food and moves over to where April was sitting and feeds Raph.

"Wow, he just wanted YOU to feed him, Casey." (Leo)

"Yeah, guess the little guy has taken a liking to me. I guess nobody, not even babies can refuse the awesome presence of Casey Jones." (Casey)

Then Raph reaches out and smacks Casey's hand and everyone laughs at Raph and Casey's slap fight.

"Alright alright, boys, that's enough." (Leo)

Leo lifts Raph into the air with one arm and Raph and Casey stop.

Then Casey sees that the jar is empty in his hands and goes to throw it away and Raph yawns and snuggles into Leo laying vertically against his plastron pressing his cheek on it.

"Awww." (April)

"He's tired. It's nap time." (Leo)

Leo rocks Raph a few times and slowly he starts to drift off until he's all the way asleep.

Leo gets up carefully and holds Raph tightly and walks to his room to put Raph in his crib.

"I'll be right back." (Leo)

Leo gets to the crib and holds Raph up so he's eye level.

"Sleep well Raphael." (Leo)

Raph then takes both his tiny hands and touches each side of Leo's face with them and presses his forehead on Leo's.

"Weo." (Raph)

"I love you too Raphie." (Leo)

Leo kisses Raph's forehead and lays him down and gives him his blanket, Bear and binky and backs away slowly.

Raph, all the way asleep again, Leo went back to the living room and sat down in his spot from before.

"Raph's asleep ?" (Mikey)

"Yeah, and Donnie should be waking up soon." (Leo)
